It's so necessary to raise your children up in the fear of the Lord these young people are so wise about relationships they could teach the world something look how attractive the girls are and the young men are so handsome yet they all have their heads on their body they know who the Lord requires them to marry mama looks so happy she doesn't have the headache as most of us have about our kids with dating and relationship God bless u mamma you've done your job well

Hi, God's Word says not to be unequally yoked, and should be followed, even if it hurts. The Lord knows where this could lead to, and unnecessary problems that can arise, more than us. Let's be straight, for SDAs this means, we should not marry a non-SDA. Compatability then follows on when choosing that particular SDA, because every individual still has e.g. different characteristics, habits, traits, relationship level with the Lord, etc. Much prayer is needed throughout. Blessings.

When courting, and serious about being led by God in one's choice of a life partner, such a person should aim at having deep and intentional talks with the Lord, and listen to the Holy Spirit's voice and promptings. I believe that God, who is so loving and caring, and established marriage, would show up any red flags as necessary. Many person's (even in the non-Christian world) see red flags but tend to dismiss them, being so tied up emotionally, and/or in order to do what they, or the intended, want to do, e.g. marry though incompatible; marry with a mindset they're able to change that person once married. So one's choice needs to include God, first, and last. Additonally, I read somewhere in SOP that if an individual comes to the realisation that the person they are about to marry is really not the one, when at the marriage altar, he/she should not go ahead - an embarrassing situation - but rather this than spend years in a marriage of unhappiness/misery and regret.
