- The candidate for the best 911 we have had at our dealership is by far this stunning 1979 Porsche 911 SC. Basheer Zaheer does a thorough review of the 911 characteristics, how it drives and above all the specifications.

Thanks Paulo ❤️
Yes yes. Absolutely beautiful
Thanks Alex, loved making this video 😍
This is my dream car!
Thanks Spencer. Same here my friend. Thanks for comment and please don’t forget to subscribe 👍
Would love to own this too
Mine to
A friend of mine dad had one and we were able to take it out on a few occasions. One of the best driving experiences I've had to date
So glad you guys did. What do you drive?
This car is so stunning and I bet it smells like the 80s inside
Haha yes it definitely does and a great cad for the 80s
My uncle had an "S" and an "SC", around 78-81, if I remember correctly. These were some of the best Porsche ever built.
We drove it over 300 miles in one trip and such an amazing drive
Its immaculate.
Thank you 🙏🏽
@@invictusporsche Out of interest, what was this listed at? In the market for 79 SC!
Not sure about the sound. But looks amazing
Thank you 🙏🏽
What the hell is that noise under acceleration ?
having SC along with 997 carrera s . if have to choose to hold only one, it would be the SC all the way.
Nicely done. Agree on your points about the older 911s being properly compact, and as a 964 owner I find the cleaner bumpers and side bits to be a great improvement over the impact bumpers. They are especially striking given the increased girth and heft of modern sports cars. Special cars, absolutely. On the wheels, I like the Cup Ones, aesthetically and for the 17” tire options, but these are also quite striking.
Thank you, you have summarised the video beautiful. How long have you had your 964?
@@invictusporsche I bought it 2 years ago from the original owner. I had a 993 before the 964
I have the same 911 same color can't wait to stroll the world in it
I’m excited for you to create memories in it
This is One of my dream cars.
I drove the car from Ireland to London and had an amazing time in it
Guy looks like Joey from friends 😂 but all jokes aside. Super nice car! 😍
Haha thanks Gerben. Glad to hear you liked the car 😊❤️
I just never got into BL wheels but I love the duck tail!👍🏼🤯🔫
We loved the way this was restomodded the Ducatail is particularly special
Does this have torsion bar or coil springs suspension? Can you draw a comparison?
I have a near identical ‘82. Beautiful car!
Listening to the exhaust sound, I’d recommend checking the head studs, might have a cracked one.
That is great to hear. We will get it checked out by the new owner now. Hope you continue to enjoy yours.
Ey very nice. I do agree with you. I have the same car. Amazing. Same color. Inside dark blue leather. Late 83' SC. Momo steering wheel. I got a sport exhaust. 😛 But as far as I know 79' model had 178 HP.
Who did the custom bumpers? Very nice.
Another question, your engine noise is kind of rattle.. is that because of the carbon parts?
Cheers
Thanks Laszlo, glad to hear you agree and for sure it’s an amazing spec’d Porsche 911 SC. You are right about the 178 HP. The custom bumpers and visual aesthetics modifications were done by the owner before so not sure where they were done.
Troppo bella, 🥰🥰🥰
Grazie 😊🙏
Beaut!
Thank you
hey, im working on the same 911 sc 1979 model too, mine looks abit different, but do you have any recondmentdations on keeping it restored? its a weird question but just like any tips/tricks on what to do to keep it looking nice? like what type of spray to use on the engine or a website to buy specific parts, anything would help.
That sounds exciting and a bit daunting at the same time, I wish you the best with it. In terms of mods, keep it as stock as possible and any mods you do make sure they are reversible. I really like the ducktail upgrade.
@@invictusporschethank you! So right now it’s not wanting to start, it’s cranking and white smoke is coming out. New battery- new ignition- new starter- a year old gas in the tank- and new spark plugs. What I’m thinking is is neeed to take the spark plugs out and clean them, you think anything else will help?! Please?
Like your car
Thank you mate. What do you drive?
I'd have to fix the rattle. do you have the original engine block?
The Engine was replaced in the early 90’s. The misfire is from the K Jet Fuel system.
great drone pilot, well framed, well edited, just a few errors in your delivery of facts
Thanks for the compliment and also your feedback 😊. What were the errors?
Mate, I’ve replayed the the 5:18-5:24 portion of the video more times than than I can count. “201 brake horsepower, 267BHP”… which is it?!?!?!?!?!
Sorry Björn on the mistake. The BHP is 201 BHP
I was lucky enough to own a car pretty much exactly the same as this but the colour was champagne silver and the alloys were silver. 79 SC with 964 upgraded body, I loved that car so much but it broke my bank badly. The car was constantly in need of repair, if it wasn't the gearbox, it was the engine, you'd get one thing fixed and something else would break and so it went on, really demoralising. Had to get rid of it eventually otherwise it would have bankrupt me lol.
Unfortunately some cars end up needing a lot of maintenance. This particular car we drove 350 miles in one day without skipping a beat. It most depends on how they have been maintained and used. I hope some day you get back into one and have less issues with them, more happy miles :)
Hows the headroom/legroom in these things? I'm 6'2", will I fit?
At your height it is not a problem at all. The seat goes low and back a fair bit to accommodate tall people
@@invictusporsche awesome! Thanks so much for the feedback!
you should buy this for yourself. If it was LHD i would buy and ship to the US in a heartbeat!
We are really torn on selling it and may actually keep it. Hard to find well sorted examples for good price esp in UK
The 964 rs has never had the duck tail. I prefere originality over thoes examples what was scooped together from different year models. It would be much better with the g model’s part. That rattle noise is horrible man.
🤤
What color code is this Porsche?
Finished in the Metallic Orkney Grey
964RS never had a ducktail
I see the reviews here but I owned a 79sc and I have to sorry disagree here. I was very excited to take ownership of my car and I had great expectations at first. I had a very nice example but soon I realized it was much slower than I had hoped. Very little horsepower. It had a very long shift as well. Then the handling not good. With the engine off the back axel the front was too light and the front end would slide.
I had hoped it would be a nice handling car but unfortunately no. I do have to say the craftmanship and design were very good. After getting rid of it I bought a Boxster. That's a different car. It had only 200 horse power but it really moved. Shifting was much smoother and with the mid engine it felt glued to the road . Have to say Mulholland dr. was my test track
Thank you for sharing your feedback, it is certainly interesting. What do you currently own?
@@invictusporsche I have a ML 550. Really nice truck. However I think about the newer versions of the 911 and believe they are a better version. Companies like Singer cans build a vintage 911 by hand and believe they would be worth the have million price tag. Way out of my budget of course. Take care
I think you must have had a bad car. I own a ‘77 911 SC and it drives and handles superbly. A Boxster will always be better obviously as it’s had 30 years of development but the SC is an outstanding car to drive considering it’s age.
@@simonfzr I’m happy you were satisfied with your car . I think the 77 may have been better then my 79. I think also it was better after the 79. I read the replies and everyone seems to had a good experience
This is not a 1979 SC, unless they've changed it to look like a 964?
You obviously didn't watch the video
Take that music out omg
Will do in the future
79 better than this mixture
I can understand your enjoyment with this car's behaviour. But I can't understand the American muscle cars exhaust. Sorry, but it sounds disgusting, yak!
Thank you for sharing your feedback
Sounds terrible
Front bumper is all wrong as is the rear spoiler
