  • Former Prime Minister and Distinguished Fellow of the IPA, Tony Abbott, and the IPA's Deputy Executive Director Daniel Wild discuss the commercial and political division caused by Qantas' cozy relationship with the federal government.
    Tony also shares his unique perspective on current polling which has the No case ahead, and the future of Australia's energy system with the recent announcement that the NSW government will enter talks to keep the Eraring coal-fired power station open beyond 2025.

    Like Tony's example to include Aboriginal s and all living in Australia a very inclusive indigenous people keeps everyone covered fairly. We VOTE NO to referendum. We do NOT need a 4th level of government.

    Tony Abbott - a very able politician. Can see the 'problems' and come up with sensible 'solutions' for the benefit of this country.
    He is streets ahead of his 'protagonists'.

    Tony Abbott is absolutely right, renewables is NUTS so is labor

    • @samroscoe944
      @samroscoe944 Před 9 měsíci

      Yeah I'm not against using renewables... I'm against using renewables that don't work!!! Labor have for some reason decided that wind and solar (the two least reliable renewables) are the best way forward. If you look at countries that have reliable power and 100% renewables it's always using geothermal and other forms. Nuclear is clearly the best alternative until we have the reliable renewable options

    • @tlb2970
      @tlb2970 Před 9 měsíci

      @@samroscoe944 coal fire power stations were doing fine and reliable, I guess nuclear going forward is the innovative option, however windmills and solar panels are destroying the environment which they are supposed to save it. The mind boggles, but labor is doing exactly what KLAUS SCHWAB wants done, and that is to destroy the country and we will own nothing and be happy. Dan Andrews did a great job in Victoria and now he’s been appointed Australian delegate for WEF. Great isn’t it

    • @samroscoe944
      @samroscoe944 Před 9 měsíci

      @@tlb2970 yeah, I totally agree. I am not against coal or any type of energy production that is reliable, because lives depend on reliable power. But we have seen now that climate activists will not prioritise lives over CO2 emissions. So I think we have to adapt and move to nuclear before they start sacrificing Australians for their misguided climate agenda.

    Tony has alway been about improving the outcomes for indigenous people but was also realistic enough to know that the taxpayers can’t go on funding a life style choice. It is unrealistic to live in a tiny remote community and then expect the same services available in cities and major rural towns

    I highly recommend Planet of the Humans a 2019 American environmental documentary film written, directed, and produced by Jeff Gibbs. It is backed and promoted by Michael Moore, who is also the executive producer. It is available to view online.
    A basic thesis of the film is that green energy cannot solve the problem of society's expanding resource depletion, which is by definition unsustainable given that the Earth is finite. The film argues that green energy sources, including wind power, solar energy, and biomass energy are not truly renewable or sustainable.

    It’s a sad day if we have to rely on Tony Abbott to provide Australia with advice for businesses. On the question of “the dangerous and divisive Voice” Abbott stands loyal to the opinion of Dutton … that it’s better to be conservative, make no progress on narrowing the gap, to continue the arrogance of partisan “Canberra rule” and to divide our nation. Very disappointing, Tony and IPA.

    Tony was a conservative which is why the LNP dumped him for a woke. Voted for Tony and like him, his ideas are all simple common sense. His only downfall, one shared by Peta Credlin is being in the US Neocon warmonger camp. As long as we are a vassal state we have no sovereignty, as such decisions are made to always benefit the US and not Australia. Until that breaks the country can't move forward, nor under the heel of corporate woke either for that matter, again, no sovereignty.

    Hi Tony, you made some interesting comments about Qantas, but I'm not clear on something. How does the old phrase "go woke go broke" apply to a business that has just announced a $2.47bn profit.
    I was also wondering, would you be willing to extend your comments about companies leaving politics to politicians to Hancock Prospecting, Phillip Morris, British and American Tobacco, Caltex Shell ,Esso and Exxon, all of whom have funded the Institute of Public Affairs. Finally do you think companies should stop donating to the major political parties like the LNP because the money they make should go toward things like "earring their social licence" by "giving a good service to their customers, treating their staff well, and returning a healthy margin to shareholders".
