What did he say? Pretty impressive? That's like saying it gets dark when the sun goes down. This is extremely impressive, and anyone that has had anything to do with even much quieter range cattle will be very impressed! I really like the calmness, and quiet, self assured attitudes of the cowboys. Some rarities there...Real men. I'm with Freecoyote. A video would sell.

I have a letter from my dads cousins, they were in New Mexico in 1905, rounding up feral cattle and had caught around 300 head! Letter was not stamped, and marked Please hand deliver! Been going on since right after the Civil War!

I used to get some cattle from the man that the Ericksons used to cowboy for on the north side of the Catalina Mtns in Az. And I got to witness the good hands they are when a bunch jumped out of my trailer in Tucson.
We were roping and tying them down in people's front yards.
I used to gather wild mavericks up in Hell's Hole. By Crown King Mine southeast of Prescott.

"NECKING" a steer is an old ranch tactic for wild cattle. Saves horses from injury. Let the steer wear himself out fighting the tree. I do dislike these half plastic ropes. They may be great for rodeo but for ranch work I like a 60 ft grass rope over the 30 ft plastic.
