  • Check out my review of the all new 2020 Vauxhall Corsa Ultimate Nav 1.2 (100PS) EAT8. Based on the same platform as the Peugeot 208, and with the same drivetrain, that I recently reviewed (link below) I examine the key differences, as well as assess the Corsa for drivability, practicality and comfort etc. Plus this one is loaded with gadgets. Ultimately I ask the question - this, or the 208?

    This is a great review btw, I ended up buying one of the back of it due to there been some great deals on. The cheapest I saw was 132 for the SE PREM, which is why the list price isn't all that important when you're not purchasing the vehicle outright.

    Thanks for the review I have driven one of these nippy cute and a little impressive. But I couldn’t figure out how to unlock doors for passengers once I am in the car (yes the button was off) it is not nice going over bumps and the engine is quite noisy but has oomphhh but i would consider buying one not for 26k!

    27k for a corsa is crazy. Back in 2015 they were offering special edition 1.2 petrol corsas for 6999 on the road. Car companies now think the general public are stupid

  • @rahmann936

    My Corsa D has more rear legroom than the new one.👍 & You can tilt the rear backrest as well. 👍But the new Corsa has a slightly bigger boot, but with no false floor even as a option like on my Corsa, so that doesn't seem like progress to me over the old model👎😤😖 IMO.🤔

    Thanks for your review. I have a question. Would you consider this car to be ideal for 1 hour+ daily commutes on the motorway? In terms of comfort and power etc. I'm not sure if it would be ideal or not, I've always considered the Corsa to be more of a city or town car but I would appreciate your advice! Thanks and subbed!

    • @BrownCarGuy
      @BrownCarGuy  Před 3 lety +3

      Oh yes, even smaller cars these days have big car feel and refinement on the motorways. It is more suited to the city, and if you spend the majority of your time on the motorway, then probably look at something else, but for average long distance usage this would be fine.

      The top spec sri model has 130 bhp. Iv got a 208 gtline with the same engine but I’m running 160 bhp and 220 ibft of torque. The 208 is a better car in my opinion.

    As soon as I saw that cheap instrument panel I was done what's up with keeping the dials if they can't be bothered to at least create an panel that fills the whole area I begin to despair for the money.

    • @richardkell4888
      @richardkell4888 Před 4 měsíci +1

      Mine is the Elite Edition 1.2, three week owner now, s/hand at 11k miles. I've a few misgivings as a new owner. I don't want to start hating it 'cos i have to get in it every day but I do think the graphics ppl need a wake up call. I prefer circular dials and the teeny little rev counter bar graph means my eyes spend more time looking at the bloody thing as i cannot hear the engine! Its placed too far down, they've forgotten older drivers have poorer vision. Theres too many reasons to take ones eyes off the road particularly in lower speed urban situations; these 'innovations' after all are supposed to make things better! You'll find yourself in urban repeatedly changing up thro the box and after a time seems stupid. Watch out for the doors, mine (driver) has dropped after 11k miles and after the halfway halt the door tends to fly out on its own accord, tricky for supermarket parking! Also, driver seat belt socket is right under my clothing, tricky to click in, but whats worse is that its hard to get in and out of. Also, if its dark its near impossible to know where to fit the key, a small hand torch is essential! I know a little bit abt product development and the Vauxhall ppl need to get their thinking caps on, a little more rigour in their thinking. Oh yes, that rear hatch snap / click of the rear door sounds really inaccurate and cheap. The heater for my arthritic feet is crap. I've hardly any idea what all the 'bells n whistles' can do, I've no interest. In my opinion theres excessive tyre noise at speed and its a bumpy ride, on a brief tryout on one of my old country B roads its a bloody bone shaker! Mine as far as I can see has no eco/ sports variation.

    Do these have electric child locks, as I seen them and there was no mechanical child lock or button? So us there an automated child locking system?

      Good point. It kinda turned into a comparison test because I had also reviewed that car just before this one, and they’re based on the same platform and compete directly.
