  • The legend lives on!
The Arden AJ 4 - now a 35-year success story.
Arden Automobilbau GmbH is the most highly regarded company in the world when it comes to refinement of contemporary Jaguar cars. Based on numerous requests from customers, the Arden team has decided to breathe new life into popular tuning classics once more. Starting with an Arden Jaguar AJ 4: For decades, the complete conversion, based on the Jaguar Series III XJ12, was one of the sales hits from tuning pioneer Jochen Arden. It made a major contribution to the success of the Jaguar specialists, with a grand total of 234 vehicles built. After extensive investigation and the “go” from the in-house design and engine building team, nothing stood in the way of a new edition of the classic. And so the first, new Arden AJ 4 creation, based on a Daimler Double Six, was delivered to a very happy customer.
Tried and tested components for optimal power utilisation
One of Arden’s core competencies and a feature of every Arden AJ 4 is a high-torque performance enhancement: After implementation of the two Arden intake manifolds with enlarged throttle valves, sports exhaust unit and optimised engine control unit, the 12 cylinder engine generates 320 bhp, and features maximum torque of 438 Nm at 2950 rpm. And the top speed also benefits significantly. Combined with the new four-gear automatic transmission, the athletic XJ12 can now accelerate to an up-to-date 238 km/h. The Arden technicians have also significantly modernised and brought the chassis and brake system up to the AJ 4 standard. Progressively-wound chassis springs collaborate with individually adjustable Koni shock absorbers, delivering pleasing, sporty handling with a high level of comfort. And the wheel/tyre combination that Arden has chosen for the AJ 4 also supports a sporty driving style. Striking 8.5x18” alloy rims with wide-base tyres size 245/40 ZR 18 underline the punchy appearance, giving the refined Jaguar an extra helping of traction.
Now as then, the connoisseur will not just recognise the AJ 4 by the alloy wheels sitting deeply in the wheel arches. A front spoiler with air scoops for optimal engine cooling, black painted trim and the Arden Jaguar radiator mascot are striking, unique features of each and every one of the 235 new AJ 4’s.
More information about the exclusive Arden refinement programme is available on the website www.arden.de.

beautiful. the tragedy of Jaguar in the 90s was instead of doing THIS they terminated the production. Such a shame. Stil looks way better than almost all other marques in the sector.

Bisher waren so die alten Mercedes Benz Fahrzeuge meine Favoriten! Aber der Wagen stellt alles in den Schatten! Lieben auf den ersten Blick!

Fabulous cars, nice to see the German appreciation of our engineering. Arden have a long history now with modifying Jags.

After a brief initial statement of liking Jaguars, this presentation seems to be trying to give the impression that all the qualities mentioned in relation to this particular car were entirely the result of Arden's work, even the wood and the leather.

Not too keen on all the badge mess going on... Daimler badging, Jaguar badging, Arden badging..... They should have used an XJ12 to start, not a Double Six since de Daimler was always the more comfortable and less sporty one. Just my humble opinion!

The question is why ? To me , and I drive a brand new 1990 Japanese imported series 3 Daimler v12 it is faultless. It is a 1000 times better than my old 7 series BMW and I couldnt want anything faster nor anything to make it go round corners faster , It is the way Jaguar intended it to be . This car , is it a Jag or a Daimler ? it has a leaping cat mascot on top of a Daimler grill painted black . it has Jaguar after market stearing wheel that looks out of place and it says Daimler in the focal point of the dashboard . Whats with those wheels . To me , the black paint need rubbing off to get the chrome back , it needs putting back to standard and all the modern bling , junking . You wouldnt want to dress your 90 year old Grandmother up in a short Mini skirt, heels and a push up bra , would you ? This car is the same , she is an old lady with too much make up.
