Baccano is a great example of how to make characters that are insane in some ways yet somehow likeable at the same time. The storytelling is superb and the english dub has to be one of the best I've ever heard

IMO this show is better than Durarara. While Durarara has heaps of great, deep characters like Baccono, I can't stop seeing Ryugamine and maybe Celty as the two MAIN characters, whereas in Baccano I felt like there was no clear main character. Plus, Baccano has this crazy unique feel to it that really sets it apart from so many other animes and makes it so refreshing and interesting to watch. Maybe it's the awesome 30s USA setting that does it. Either way, both shows are fantastic and I hope this one gets a second season. I NEED MORE ISAAC AND MIRIA!!!
everyone loves the classic US, starts at roaring 20's up to 50's. This generations is still not outfashioned and outdated to thid day. And I would agree with the uniqueness of Baccano. everyone have equal focus whereas in durrr they focused more on some of the characters. you would see baccano is made up of each character. both great series though.

One of my favourite anime of all time. Wasn't impressed upon first watch, couldn't even finish Ep1. Now I love it, so much. I would be so happy to see this anime come back, same legendary opening and all. If that happened I would actually cry happy tears.

Brilliant show, wonderful and memorable characters, excellent music, tremendous animation and a storyline filled with so many clever twists and turns that easily make me happy to revisit them all over again to find something new every time.
My favorite opening theme of all time, from any medium. More than anything else, this tune is the reason I return to Baccano for a rewatch every few months. One of the prime examples of: "They don't make 'em like they used to."
I can't remember the last time I found a show or story where no matter how hard I tried, I could not pick a favorite character. From Isaac and Miria's hilarious antics, Firo's open nature, and Jacuzzi's selflessness to the sadistic Ladd, the insane Graham, and the badass Rail Tracer, I just can't pick one to like more than the rest. The whole cast of Baccano is incredible!
I love, *love*, *LOVE* this anime. I love the characters, I love the storylines and, most of all, I love how the story is told and the ending. The writer in me fawns over shows and stories like this, where they keep you from seeing the full picture and all the connections until the end. And that ending, in my eyes, is perfection. I hope to one day write a story told in a similar format; with different interconnecting storylines whose connections aren't apparent until the very end. But not yet; it's a challenge for when I'm a better writer than I am now.

HighspeedGI7 The setting takes place mostly around 1711, 1930, 1931, and 1932, but most of the stories we see take place during the early 30's. There are multiple settings, but the primary setting is the 30's.

5 years ago I stumbled upon this great anime and even though now I can’t find it anywhere I still enjoy listening to this full version of the song which takes me back to the first time I watched it

You have to watch it all the way to really get why I believe it's amazing. i haven't watched Baccano yet so I can't compare the two (imo its better not to) but I say at least watch Durarara until episode 12. You can stop there if you like; you won't get the full experience, but it's a good stopping point if you really are disinterested. But like I said, I highly recommend watching all of it, minus the 12.5 filler.

Watch this show immediately, perfect example of short and sweet, but not too short cause it has 16 episodes. The dub is one of the best out there. I just re watched it and found out it was more of an amazing show than I remember. The beginning intro is one of my favs, great way to introduce the main characters :)

Watch this show immediately, perfect example of short and sweet, but not too short cause it has 16 episodes. The dub is one of the best out there. I just re watched it and found out it was more of an amazing show than I remember. The beginning intro is one of my favs, great way to introduce the main characters :)
For those who want to watch Baccano, here's a tip: Never skip this opening, and try to memorize the character's name
I am so happy the light-novels are finally being released in the U.S. ! Even after 100+ aniem series Baccano! is still my favorite ever. :D
The beginning reminds me of Tank! from Cowboy Bebop.

this anime may be kind of confusing at first but it is part of how unique, raw, and kind of the protagonist is to each character of the other.
Still here with a wishful dream, that this series will ever continue. One could dream that It will get a second season to continue the story, right? Baccano was simply too amazing to have just ended the way it has!
