    The way Adam is staring at that bacon at the end is too funny. 😁 He's thinking "Don't look directly at the bacon or they'll know I'm staring at all that delicious bacon." 😋😬

    Since you are cooking bacon, what about cooking with bacon grease? For example, I make bacon for breakfast, then cook my vegetables and eggs in the leftover bacon grease. Thoughts on doing that? or ways in which I could improve upon that?

    Fruits and vegetables are vital so carbs also have their place, otherwise you will be deficient in a host of nutrients !

    I no longer worry about fat unless it's refined vegetable oil, I now worry about refined carbs! I eat real organic butter, avacado oil, extra virgin olive oil, coconut oil, whole eggs, 20% fat ground beef, lamb, belly pork, bacon, nuts, nut butters, cheeses, full fat Greek yogurt!

    If you are not doing keto, what macronutrient ratio do you recommend? I used to do the bulletproof diet (whole 30 foods with the keto macronutrient ratio) but am finding it too hard to sustain while living in malaysia for a year.

    While I do love my carbs, and I do eat a good amount of them, I’ve found that having a higher carb/fat ratio is much more satisfying than going as low-fat as possible just to get in more carbs.

      hi brandon van zant, i am a doctor from Austria and i know, that there are only a few doctors in the world, who treat type I diaetics with low carb high fat diets....but there are some and you can contact them on the Internet......i would recommend dr. Jason fung( Canada) first of all.....just Google him.......he is very smart and humble and if he is not the right one for you he can recommmend someone else.......watch his Videos and maybe his new book: Diabetes Code can help you.....on CZcams search for: low carb down under.....they have conferences on low carb and as far as i can remember some talks are about type I........good luck and best from a doctor, who is very unhappy about the current Nutrition Guidelines for diabetics....so you have to learn on your own

    • @hiraijo1582

    • @hiraijo1582

      your welcome...........but i feel a Little bad, because i did not even try to answer your question.......i am a doctor and though my english is not that good, it should be possible to explain to you, how Diabetes type1 works( opposite to Diabetes type2). Insulin is the Hormon, that shifts sugar and also Protein into your cells, so they get energy and grow. most diabetics are type 2....this Comes from eating too many carbs( ie Sugars) for years and decades, the Body has to produce more and more Insulin, to shift it into the cells, after years Insulin is really high but it can`T do it`s Job anymore, bloodsugar is constantly extremely high......now the person is diabetic..2.....now the opposit: Diabetes 1........ your pancreas cannot build Insulin at all, you simply have None.....so you can`t shift sugar from your blood to your cells: 2 Things happen: your bloodsugar is high....and this may lead to coma and finally death( which happened to all type ones before injectable insulin was avaiable)....and the sugar and Proteins can`t enter your cells......so your entire Body is starving.
      what this means: type2 produce much too much Insulin while your Body produces None.....both situations are fatal.
      when you have high bloodsugar in type 1 your Body is still starving( no Insulin to shift it into the cells).....so it produces ketones in excess( this is fats to fuel the Body).... this is perfect in somebody, who can produce Insulin( all healthy Person and type 2), but fatal for type1, because, if sugar and ketones are high at the same time, you don`t get into healthy ketosis but in damaging and fatal ketoacidosis.....
      so.... you have to inject Insulin. to feed your Body.....but you don`t want to inject too much, because, when muscles are filled up, you only have your fatcells left, and you don`t want them to grow too much.......so your Goal is, don`t have too much or too low Insulin........
      for not neading too much Insulin( not growing fat) a low carb diet would be perfect. if you eat less carbs, you Need less Insulin.....but now it Comes to you.......you lift heavy weights and your athletic Goal is, becoming a Bodybuilder.....so you want to gain muscle......in this case it might be good, not to go very low carb, maybe a 100-150g( this is still low, in comparison to the average diet).....so you inject a Little more Insulin for muscle gain, but not too much, to grow fat........
      i know this is very confusing in the beginning, but you will learn, and after some time it will be easy
      did some Research: dr. troy stapelton: low carb Management for type 1 Diabetes on CZcams would be a good start, he mentions two books:dr. Bernstein Diabetes solution and another one by Adam Brown.......and .....the best at last....there is a Facebook-Group exclusevly for Diabetes type1: typeonegrit
      i think, this could be the best Support for you
      take care

    Are eggs a good source, even with their cholesterol bad rap?

    • @hiraijo1582
      @hiraijo1582 Před 6 lety +2

      eating eggs will not raise your cholesterol. this was a myth brougth up in the seventys. i am a MD ( from Austria) and was thaught that myth too at University. but since than, a lot of studies showed, it is not troo. your cholesterol raises, when you consume trans-fats, for exemle margerine and all Kinds of Cookies and cakes you buy at the Supermarket, because they are made with cheap margerine. so eat eggs from free ranched chicken.....the yolks are full off healthy fats( Omega 3) and fat soluble Vitamins. maybe you should read the book: a big fat surprise or some of gary taubes works.....we all have been fooled about healthy Nutrition an as a doctor, i am really angry. and the american heart association goes on, to fool the public( a lot of Money for them, they are funded mostly by vegetable oil companies).......at least in some european countries, there is allready a shift in Nutrition advice......unfortunately not in Austria, not yet

    What is the difference between grass-fed and grass-finished meat?

    • @taoofstefan
      @taoofstefan Před 6 lety

      Grass-finished beef comes from cattle that have been raised on a forage diet their entire lives. While most cattle spend the majority of their lives in pastures eating grass before moving to a feedlot for grain-finishing, grass-finished beef cattle remain on a pasture and forage diet.
      So grass fed could indicate that it is grain finished, but grass fed and finished shows that the cattle was eating grass througouth their lives.

    I really appreciate your videos about workout, but about nutrition you are not educated enough. Consuming high fat is unhealthy. When you workout and eat enough protein and get good sleep, you can drink alcohol, smoke, and eat high fat and feel and look great, but it's still unhealthy. When you track your food, you must realise, that 10 percent fat of your total calories covers your daily needs of fat. Diary is super unhealthy for the body and more than one egg a day gives your body too much unhealthy cholesterol. If you combine carbs with green leaves and vegetables, it will last you longer than if you just eat carbs. If you wouldn't work out, you would feel and see that what you say is unhealthy. I have been doing 80/10/10 raw vegan food with cooked meals included for many years and I feel great without working out. Every time I don't follow that nutrition I see and feel the disadvantages. But when you work out, eat enough protein and get good sleep, you feel great anyway, disregarding what else you consume. I hope that everybody here at least knows, that the combination of fat and carbs in one meal is reason number one for diseases.
