Flow control is simply a water reducer. Less water in concrete = more strength. Nice job Mike!
Mike at Modustrial Maker came up with the caulk method and you missed a crucial step. You lay down a coat of paste wax first. It helps the concrete release nicely and it keeps the excess caulk from sticking. (Haha yeah, you said it as I was typing!)
Mike also makes a ton of awesome concrete projects!
Super video Mike. You are one of my favorite you tubers. You put things in layman terms so it makes sense. I built your lumber storage rack after watching so many videos of other people. You’re the best. Keep up the good work. 👍
Thank you so much Steve! And thank you for the email!
They’re both beautiful. I love that with rapids set you can do this as a DIY and succeed
Unique and beautiful, both of them!
They look great, and I bet they look better in person than they do in a video on my phone.
Impressed with the beautiful results and with the number of comments by people planning to do something similar after watching a few of your videos.
That’s Bomb brother! Nicely done! Enjoying the process!
I really like that you show what doesn't work and the process to get to what does . In regards to the polishing process.thanks.
Michael, I started watching your videos a year ago after retiring, you inspired many cool projects. I’m excited to do my son’s bath countertop soon using the concrete, crushed glass, & resin method from this video. I’m going to add some river stone too, like I did on an outdoor bar top I created last fall I learned a lot from that project). I hope to also start a CZcams channel soon… Thanks for your inspiration!
THATS WHAT IM TALKIN ABOUT! Good job Mike! Let me know if have any questions about starting a CZcams channel. I still haven’t figured it out yet but maybe I can steer you out of the wrong direction lol 😂
One more note Rapid set does make a purple bag of just cement pure raid cement but you have to add your ingredients of sand, citric acid or water reducers it’s perfect for spraying GRFC .. look into it
Both counter tops are gorgeous!
Thank you so much Patti!
Lots of work, but the result is worth it. Some lucky customer of yours has a one of a kind piece of art.
as always love watching your projects
I got to say..... Your are simply the Best!!!
They look incredible! 😍😍🙌🙌
I LOVE TOTAL BOAT!!! ☺️🥰👍🏻🎉
@@MichaelBuilds We love you!
Bad ass. I love this guy
I love you too! Lol
Mind blowing talent!
Amazing work...given me a lot ideas around my home.
Rapid set better have sent you more than a few bags of product for that ad, bud.....that was damn good advertising!
Wow! Wow! Wow! So cool! Awesome job. Gotta try it myself!
Cool, they both look great.
You are definitely an inspiration. You make these projects approachable and quite tempting. :D
Thank you SO MUCH Ray!
I like them both!
Amazing. Great job
Love seeing you back on the concrete
That looks very cool!
Badass dude, you're a great video maker
This is so freakin cool!!!!! Both are good..but that live edge is 🔥!!!!!
THANK YOU! You’re freakin COOL! 😎
Looks great!
It’s a work of art. Beautifully done…. ❤❤
THANK YOU!
Super well done
You have really inspired me with this technique of countertop builds. I would love to see you try an infinity sink build. This is something I would love to try but there are many videos or start to finish videos.
Heeey! Michael! 😁💕
Heeeeeeey 😉😊🤣
Beautiful
So glad I found this channel. You do some awesome project's and this is one of them. These are so cool. You've just inspired me to do this project. Thank You!
That's very cool
Can you do a video on the Asphalt Resurfacer? I think you can use that if you have a bunch of big cracks on blacktop driveways. Would be a great video since there is only like 1-2 on youtube. Then you'd use normal driveway blacktop sealant after.
Yes . Floor wax then Q top the corners leaving the wax over the rest . Once silone dries . The access comes right out.
Done it money times
Yeah, I was watching Modustrial Maker last night and he confirmed that as well in a couple of his videos haha. Oh well, now I know for next time lol 😂
I like the idea of trying maybe the next time you do an undermount sink to have a river flow INTO the bowl area and texture it like a waterfall on each sides into the bowl?
So, I guess that the waterfall effect was ......... Taking it up a notch? ;o)
Have you thought of putting your makers mark on any of this stuff?
It would seem you now have a couple of "Side hustles" ...... YT (Obviously) and Custom sink counter-top design and build!
You aren't thinking of building a Concrete House ..... are you?
Seriously though ... another great video!
Very cool
another great video, well explained plenty of details. Goin to build a vanity top for a 2nd bath.
Awesome designs and amazing job.
Well done!
Thank you! ☺️👍🏻
Surprised me w using the RS Mortar. I have used it for so many things but never countertops!
You can do anything with this stuff! ….except go slow lol 😂
No 3/4” AR glass fiber or fiber mesh , don’t use uncoated polymer seal metal mesh which will flex and cause cracking over time with expansion up grade to AR glass fiber or basalt fiber mesh this would help out more for lasting reinforcement but great work on the vanity once again thanks for sharing
Then i seen this lol great video thank you
It's actually a fondant tool that is used to form the silicone seam. The key is that you have the right size. I don't think your bearing was a good size.
This is very tempting to do. I hate my bathroom counter tops.

Really beautiful! Can’t wait to see you install them.🤗❤️🐝 btw…. What do they weigh?
They Looked Awesome!!! Its been a year. Have they held up ok? Any issues?
Thanks for another great video! Those look fantastic!
Any advice on how to raise a small concrete slab? I have one in front of my barn. It is angled wrong and when we get heavy rain, the water goes into my barn and pools up. The area of the floor where it pools is now cracked and a small depression is there. Now that it's finally warming up here in SE MI, I'm hoping to fix this sometime this Spring or Summer.
Great video! What type of mortar would you recommend if you're trying to get white vanity tops? Or would you just use white pigment in the mix?
Will any resin attach to the concrete? Did you seal the concrete where you poured the resin? And how did you make sure resin and concrete stayed flush?
After you sanded the epoxy was the transition seamless?
LOL, his wife 😆
Can a concrete top be made to look like marble?
Is there a way to make the sink out of morter as well? Like all 1 solid piece?
Watching the video, it looks like you sprayed WD-40 on the blue fire glass, does that effect adhesion to the concrete?
Nope. You would think so but they’re in there real good haha
I am really enjoying your concrete videos. I started watching a few days ago because I acquired an outdoor island with a concrete top. BUT ,I haven't been able to find information about cleaning, sealing old, dirty concrete. Can you please send me in the right direction 🙏 😊
Thank you SO MUCH! The best and easiest way would be to rent a pressure washer and hose it down with an all purpose cleaner pressure washer fluid. If the dirt and grime is still being stubborn, you’ll have to get a concrete etcher and scrub it really well and then hose it off www.homedepot.com/p/Rust-Oleum-1-gal-Concrete-Etch-and-Cleaner-301242/206495770
Then seal it with a concrete sealer that is UV resistant.
@Michael Builds thanks so much for responding. I got our pressure washer out of storage and will start working on it today. It has lots of grease/BBQ stains so I bought the concrete cleaner. Deciding weather to stain it before sealing, but that will depend on how the cleaning goes.
I'll take photos of the process if you are interested.
Mike I recently poured two small tops as a trial before I do my kitchen tops. I used the same brand mix you used and it comes out like a tan color instead of gray. When I watch your videos which are great yours look gray. Any ideas?
Mine come out tan-ish too. It’s hard to tell on camera but I’m getting the same results you are. If you use Cement All you’ll get much closer to grey
@@MichaelBuilds thanks for the reply. I’ll give that a try and see how it looks.
I recently poured a top using the mortar mix and added a bottle of black dye hoping it would make it black but when it dried it turned out gray. So if your shooting for gray that might be the way to go. I used one bottle to one bag.
@@str8tshooter3006 thanks for the input. Might have to try that one also
FIRST!!
Lol 😂
Lol
Greething from puerto rico 🇵🇷💪👍
Looks like an elephant. 17:03
were you "commissioned"
You don't want your mold release on you glass pieces.
You do NOT need to wait a week to demold other countertop mixes you shill.
