  • In this video, I show you a compilation of my Accelerated Free Fall (AFF) licensed jumps (USPA) at SkyDive Dubai. As per the United States Parachute Association you are required to do a minimum of 5 jumps in order to get your AFF license. Therefore, the additional two jumps in this video were part of my coaching jumps something normally done after your AFF.
I have multiple hours of Wind Tunnel training at Inflight Dubai which is one of the main reasons that allowed me to progress very quickly.

Fuck man I struggled at my level 3 jump. Had to put in tunnel time to get stable. Seeing you blast through AFF is amazing. Well done. Blue skies.

Rock solid. I think you were flying way better on your first jump than I was on my 100th. Nice landings btw, which you couldn’t learn in a tunnel.

I had about 20mins before AFF and I'm glad I did it. More tunnel when I start to learn freeflying. Remember you don't have a rig on in the tunnel and you are normally going way slower if you're just starting. Nothing really prepares you for flying your canopy either. If you can afford it do tunnel when you're not jumping.

Looks great, you looked very comfortable. How much tunnel time did you have before your first jump? It looked like you were able to execute all the tasks with such ease.

You are very good, but it looks like you just skipped over a lot of the requirements we have here in the US. What you completed in your 3 jumps, we would break into 5, plus we have another 2-3 jumps with additional metrics that you weren’t required to touch on.

I have a number of static line jumps from the early 70s and 80s but never had the raw talent to overcome fear except once in an accuracy comp jumping a steerable round. Even today aged 66 I would love to give it another try. Maybe accelerated free fall and the better equipment will help overcome my irrational fear.

@@malcolmkeith816 ..I should have said 70s, 80s, AND as late as 1995. an four of the jumps in the 80s were off the ramp of a Caribou and into the sea.

As an old AFFI, I must say one of the best instructors I've seen on here. One note if I may, teach the student to look, wave before pulling a bit better. Over all student and instructor gets a big A.

Wish all my students were that easy. Now go work on all your canopy skills from the categories you were able to skip. Braked turns might save your butt someway.

  • @northernrebel1375
    @northernrebel1375 Před 11 měsíci +1

This doesn’t make sense to me. Why would they allow this. Sure you are probably good in free fall. But you don’t have experience with a canopy or malfunctions which are arguably the most important part of the AFF program. I wouldn’t have let you condense your jump requirements this much. You also appear to have skipped over alot of requirements. And in the US you need more than 5 jumps. You need like 25 jumps.

  • @bradleybeckstead9674

Way too many signals from the instructors! Also, you should never let go on a Cat A. I don't care how much tunnel time they have.

If you got a license after that few jumps, your instructors are idiots and need to lose their ratings.
What about all the canopy progression and spotting experience?
    Freefall isn’t everything.
    Blue skies

  • @flagstafup5857

In my day I progressed through the static line, and FF delays which took years before I got my D License, eventually gaining my Instructor and Tandem ratings, (and 3 years in the ‘Freds’👺). This confirms that tunnel time is a must if you want to learn to FF and progress quickly. It was pleasure to watch you exit and FF with that ability and confidence.
Interestingly, my very last lump was on this very DZ. Blue Sky’s and safe landings. 🪂👹🇬🇧🇦🇪
