One of my favorite songs by her. There are live performances where she blows up this song to the extreme, so powerful! Just like in the record! But here she wasn't as inspired, it's like she wasn't in her plate and comfortable enough tbh
I can’t believe this was 15 years ago. This was such a big deal for this Celine fan at that time. I think this was either THE first or ONE of the first live TV performances of Taking Chances. (Don’t quote me on that.) CZcams was 2 years old that time and I’ll always remember how much I used CZcams to watch all the fan footage of the TC Tour. I think she was one of the first artists I ever obsessively watched on CZcams. Ah, memories. And yes, as others have noted, I remember vividly that she was having some vocal issues during the promotional phase of this album, something to do with a virus as I recall. But I also think it also had to do with her suddenly changing her singing routine from the Vegas schedule and also incorporating a new style of singing/vocal training in terms of the TC material. (She then went on to deliver some of the BEST VOCALS of her entire life during the Taking Chances World Tour, so give her a break!)

I think the 42 number 1 singles is in UK only. Back in 2000s Celine managed to overtake Madonna as the biggest selling female artist but Madonna reclaimed that title in 2016 during her Rebel Heart era.

That was the beginning of her Stiff Person Syndrome according to her new documentary movie. How sad that she hadn't known what was wrong with her back then.
She may have been sick or wasnt getting the proper feedback from the earpiece. Whatever it was, she struggled slightly with transitioning into some of higher notes. That said, i saw her performing this live a few months late in concert here in Cape Town, South Africa and she hit every single note perfectly.

I love Celine, but that intro was overblown. Celine Dion has never been nominated for an Academy Award, let alone won two, yet the intro graphics implied that very strongly. I don't have a problem with them saying she's the best-selling female artist of all time - that may very well be true - but saying she's had however many number ones, without making it clear that most of the #1s were for a specific number of singles and were #1s in categories that most people don't normally equate as that impressive? Really, I was so turned off by the intro crap package that I found it hard to concentrate on her solid (but not by any means her best) performance of a kind of good song.

As much as I love CD, this is lip synced maybe not entirely but partly. At the end the sound of her voice is different they may have turned the mike on for the end and maybe the beginning. Tthe keyboard is even not even powered, just the sustain pedal cable is plugged. Remember that lots of European shows are lip synced, it has been the std there for years there while in America, lots of TV shows were live. It is not necessarily Celine’s choice but the producer’s choice and she has the right to lip sync as most of the singers on the planet have done. It is not a sin and it doesn’t make her less of the greatest singer on the planet. The thing is : “ Did you enjoy the show?” Yes so forget about the lip sync or not. Celine has sung live in Vegas for a decade, she proved that she can do it, she doesn’t have to prove it on every single TV appearance to anyone.
