Agreed; it's not a long-term solution. I don't see how monitoring them would help either since you can't monitor some percentage of the population every day, all day, including while they're at home.
My mind then goes to therapy. I don't know enough about the pedophilic mindset to know if they're actually treatable. If they're narcissists or psychopaths, very few will actually improve their behavior.
Is therapy an option? There's such a stigma around therapy in most parts of the world. All I know for sure is that the negative stigma regarding therapy has to change.
I saw your coverage of the treatment in Germany and then watched a documentary about it. It may help in some cases, but not all.
