Let's Craft Episode 6 Revell 1/72 Grumman F-14D Super Tomcat

Hola otra vez, I was allowed to build a free kit for my workplace and with Top Gun Maverick releasing soon I felt this Revell 1/72 scale Tomcat would tie in nicely. By the way if you are ever in Toronto why not drop by Sunward Hobbies, you can meet me and support my boss' family run business.

Okay dude, you mashed up “Hot For Teacher” by Van Halen and “Shattered” by Pantera in just the first two minutes alone, and I happen to be working on this exact model now, so you have got my full attention! I shall proceed with the lesson now, as I am stumped on two triangular pieces that look pointless.

I’m wanting to get into scale modelling how do you know so much detail about the plane for instance all the different colour layers?

I get my colors either from the instruction callouts or through photo references.

If you only use the colors from the kid will the f 14 lock like the cover or do i ned extra paint

Revell kits call out their own brand of paint, but I use mostly Vallejo paints, so I used the paints that I felt matched the cover paint scheme the closest.

Your phonex palletes are too far after. They need to cover the sparrow wells in the tunnel. Also the D model tomcat didn't have the glove veins. That stopped on late A model aircraft. Otherwise nice build

does this model come with a stand, if you dont want it to have its wheels extended?

It does not, but you can buy stands from Airfix, Revell, and several other manufacturers.

I found some issues with the kit from Revell. I wish you had done a more thorough tutorial that addresses these problems and what to do about them.

Of course, as long as you have a stand or you're hanging it from the ceiling.

It's not recommended, but you can if you're careful.
