    I feel like some dedicated blinders would go so far on this rig, other than that probably your best lighting yet!

      Trust me I know, strobes too. Blows my mind that this venue doesn't have any in house. They only have moving heads, I don't like this house system much at all frankly. It's also laid out in a bizarre way for seemingly no reason other than to try to be different and "creative" in a really niche way that sacrifices a lot of essential utility

    what do you think of this rcf array? The lows are insane😄

    • @kennethsnellinx

      The subs could be 21" from RCF

    • @dougberry4674
      @dougberry4674 Před 5 lety +2

      extremely average across the board, the subs are okay but this club needs more to satisfy them. they constantly run the (4) 9006s they have in limit

    • @kennethsnellinx
      @kennethsnellinx Před 5 lety

      @@dougberry4674 I agree, in this kind of environment I'd recommend a passive line array system from Martin, d&b, L-acoustics etc.

      @@soundfreak8892 well 8 in a center cluster would be better, but that still only gives them 6db of headroom compared to their current system. They might need 8 louder subs in general to stay out of limit

      @@soundfreak8892 "trust me" ... my dude, i'm not just giving speculation. they were in use at this event, in this venue, that i was at. i heard 4 of them here, in temp limit. i think they need 8, and probably different louder subs in general

      @@megumind9939 they do go down to around 30 hz and those 4 subs did an okay job of keeping up with those 10 mains I would add 2 more subs or one more and it should be good and yeah I would slash off around 1g on the subs to pricey! This rig would sound better if it had Rcf hdl 30 but the hdl 30 cost around 5g to 6g!

    Nice. Sometimes too much action in lighting for the music.
    No front light? The faces of the band are quite dark.

    • @dougberry4674
      @dougberry4674 Před 5 lety +2

      it's not a rock & roll or country show where the stage is constantly blasted by warm white front lighting. there are many moments of the show where it's not about stage presence, it's just about setting the atmosphere for the music vibe.
      typically for these shows i will key light artists who do solos or have a big part in a certain song, but otherwise will color wash the stage to match the effect lighting. unfortunately it doesn't seem this was really caught on camera, most of it is during darker stage moments
      the clip you can see at 15:16 starts with a vocalist key lit nicely, and then I purposefully pull that light completely out when he's done a few seconds later in that clip and refocus that light on the guitarist on stage right as the clip is ending
      in the clip after that one, i have no front lighting on whatsoever. just seeing shadows and silhouettes of the band, again for nothing but the atmosphere and music vibe. completely intentional decision that i'm happy with for that song, and the band was too, but i respect your opinion as well!
      also, just as a note, my view from FoH at this venue is pretty bad in the sense that i can't tell what the lights look like from the crowd perspective. i only have a birds eye view, and i would have made some different decisions on lighting the band if i had the same view as the crowd. but overall, i don't have any regrets here, i just would have polished up the concepts i was talking about earlier
