  • Hi everyone! Merry Christmas!
Because the first half of senior year has come to a close, I decided it was time to make another fails video! These are primarily just from fall of this year, whereas the last video was a mix of different years! Don't worry - there will be more to come because I still have plenty of old videos to go through!!! I hope these videos of my friends and I messing up makes your day! Enjoy :)
P.S. the random piece of green tape on my shirt is from rehearsal! hehe

0:40, I relate. Ever since joining color guard, I can be standing perfectly still not doing anything and just drop things.

That just sums up the guard experience as whole you'll be standing there holding your equipment listening to your coach like a a good guard gremlin and someone will drop something

I did one toss and spun under it with a flag and it was so scary, so I respect the bravery with rifle and sabre 👍🏽

At least yall didn't knockout a ceiling tile with a rifle, put holes and dents in a brand new ceiling, chip concrete with a flag, or break a light throwing a j-toss

Thanks for such a fun compilation! I hope I may have your permission to include some of your “Color Guard Fails” in a compilation of my own on my “Middle School Band & Orchestra” channel. I plan promote your channel and videos at the end of it. Best regards from Mr. Winters and my students!

I did a 45 toss and it hit me in the face. I cannot get over the fear of a flag hitting me in the face again and I can't do a flat toss anymore. Any tips on getting over my fear?

This happened to me years ago! Two things: 1) Watch and learn. If you're surrounded by older Colorguard members, watch them perform their tosses. How exactly do they release their toss? How do they get their height? Replicating something that works is always great to try. 2) Toss away from yourself without the intention of catching just to comprehend the motion of the toss. Put your 45 toss at a 45-degree angle but launch it away from yourself. You will watch and learn the angle and all you will have to do eventually is release above yourself as opposed to out. If this is too confusing, just watching and learning others should do the trick! Don't be afraid to ask for help too. Hope that helps!

@@gracew8297 thank you sm for your detailed reply. I actually just got back comfortable with my flat toss since my coach made us do homework videos. This is my 2nd season of Colorguard (3 including winterguard) so I'm ready to take on whatever. And you were right, after watching a flat toss video and focusing on her hands, I did get my flat toss back to where it used to be (if not better). Thank you!!
