Great Request from on of the all time greats! JJ, your ear has become more sophisticated in the last few years. Despite being partially blind Tatum was a classically trained virtuoso. He was admired by classical greats Rachmaninov and Horowitz. Gershwin was also a huge fan of his. A foundational (cake batter) artist of jazz, as the Bebop musicians tried to imitate his riffs. Great review and research.

Stride is a particular style of jazz piano where the left hand doesn't just play the chords, they add basslines. Check out Fats Waller and James P. Johnsto, early stride players.
Art was legally blind as well, limited vision in one eye and none in the other, adds another layer of his genius. As always, love the reactions man!
