@@OnlyGraftingwaitrose is actually fairly affordable if you just buy their essential range. They also offer you vouchers on the app based of pass purchases, getting up to £1.50 off. & you can use three a week. Not to mention free coffee when you scan your waitrose card. As a student who only lives near Waitrose it’s not half as bad as people think. :)

I'll tell you the best way to maximise your value; Get a Costa express vanilla latte with your meal deal. They usually cost in the region of £3.45 on their own, so if you're essentially getting a sandwich and a snack for 5p extra. 😂

I agree with you on the "maximising cost" thing. I always aim to get Triple sandwiches/wraps instead of the usual doubles for that very reason, even if it's a more bland or generic choice, just because why pay £3.50 for a double when I can pay £3.50 for a triple and get more food.

Not always. Asda does it that you just get the cheapest item for free in the meal deal, so it's more expensive to get a triple
tbh i'm a small person that gets full pretty easily so i'd rather just get what tastes best. that said, my usual used to be the meatball marinara sandwich, so who am i to talk
Why would I pay more to get something that's not as enjoyable to eat, if a normal meal deals is small enough that you feel you need to buy more food then yeah that lowers its value if a better deal can see you through the day but otherwise just buy the food you like as opposed to following the random numbers on the price tag

Fun fact: most supermarkets source their sandwiches from the same place, with custom packaging. This includes spar. They all come from the same place, excluding places like waitrose and M&S who have custom kitchens.

That yule hog wrap I wanted to know what was in it so I looked on the tesco website. Its pulled pork in a hickory style marinade, rosemary and turkey gravy mayonnaise, Kentish cider apple sauce, lettuce, sage and onion stuffing and fried onions in a plain tortilla wrap. Sounds so nice haha

I agree with not eating egg and fish in public, but I have to admit I find it hard to resist getting the two boiled eggs as a part of the morrisons meal deal. Also when it comes to christmas meal deal, the brie and cranberry is a classic.
morrisons has the most elite meal deals. medium box from the salad bar, loaded up with mostly pasta, oasis summer fruits or a white monster if im tired, and then something like a millionaires shortbread as the snack

The one thing I preach about is Sainsburys having Bakery and Hot Food counters in the regular meal deal. Like I normally just get a hot sausage roll as a snack, but you can get donuts muffins pain aux raisins. And then like there’s some good hot mains as well.
My go to normally is this though :
Main : Southern Fried Chicken Wrap / Chicken Salad Sandwich
Snack : Hot Sausage Roll / Salt and Vinegar Squares / Pain aux Raisin
Drink : Orange Lucozade Sport / Ribena
