Villa Carlotta is a modest spot in Lake Como, where you will see the green foliage all winter. The strange thing is that although the 18th-century villa is full of sculptures and paintings, most of the tourists go there to see the hillside of gardens. When the camellias and 12-meter tall banks of massed rhododendrons are in bloom, the gardens are filled with colourful flowers throughout the season.
