Aarseth was a talented musician but a jealous cowardly man many other people in the black metal scene disliked him because of that. He still created incredible music and I respect him for that. RIP Aarseth Oystein
It is in the town of Ski in Norway, about 30 kilometres southeast of Oslo, you can reach it easily by train. The street is the Kirkevegen in the northwest of Ski, the church is the 'Gammle Kirke', there's also a 'Nye Kirke' so don't mix them up...
It's sad to see people taking Varg's words so easily. It seems as if many people can't think for themselves. There's way to many holes and contradictions in his stories to be believable, yet people still spew exactly what he says without a second thought. In my opinion, Varg is, and always will be a traitor, a lying backstabber. Respects to the founder of the Second Wave of Black Metal.
Well according to the official report it was 23 times total. I assume Varg just makes up a random story each time to explain that number, usually settling on a few in the back, once in the head, and then "broken glass" everywhere else. Because falling on broken glass totally looks just like stab wounds.
@goatboy679 that's my boy, that's the true spirit... you're rapidly improving in your chase for the right attitude!!!! ...and I'd thought you were a hopeless case... that's my boy, I'm proud of you! 10 points, my son!
Could you tell me what town this cemetery is located in? I plan on visiting Norway one day and coming to this place is one thing I'd have on my list of things to do.
Where is this cemetery, and what is the grave number, if you know, please? I can't find the info online at all, and Dead's information appears disputed.
yea, I thought about setting music to it after i put the vid on youtube... Perhaps i'll put a version with music on youtube too one of the days..it would sure as hell add to the atmosphere
Now please explain how you "help" someone who has the upper part of his skull blown off and the brain splattered over the place (as clearly seen on the picture)? You don´t think this kind of injury would be instantly fatal? If you don´t think so please elaborate.
@vinterfroest indeed, neither do I hope... I heard same thing happened to Dead... Noone deserves to be buried like this - especially when fighting against it
without euronymous, there will be no burzum or other great bm...he started the second wave and showed anyone, what music and behaviour against the christianity. i don't think, that varg would had the courage to do same like oystein...he was the right man at the right time, varg was just a follower
@csehszlovakze i believe vargs writings, and let me tell you why (though i wouldnt be surprised if he exaggerated a bit). he is a pagan. he believes in honor. he has given us no reason to believe that hes a liar. and he obviously hates disinformation because of what happened to him with the media and such. varg is a bigot, but i dont think hes a liar.
Varg means wolf in Old Norse, as far as I know he admired Quisling but that had nothing to do with the name. (it's definitely not in the Moynahan interviews for the book)
Euro saw Venom as the forefather of evil metal (as he was in love with evil stuff).Them and Bathory. He was influenced by all of those bands mentioned but Venom the most. From the interview i have read anyway
I have seen pictures of it before but a video makes it a really strange somewhat eerie experience, I don't know how to describe it. Such a loss. HAIL EURONYMOUS!!! 666
@oterrivelivan Euronymous first attacked Varg and he defended him self but Euronymous saw that Varg is stronger and started running and Varg said himself that from there it was voluntary man slaughter in a way it was still defense because Euronymous would have tried again...
Exactly. You can clearly hear Bathory in ALL black metal of the early 90's but you couldn't hear Venom in there. To narrow it down, I would say Venom contributed more to the IMAGE of black metal than to the MUSIC itself. They were the first to use such cover art on the Black Metal album and the first to use "evil" lyrics if I may say. However, the impact Bathory had on black metal music was far more greater than Venom which was minimal.
Actually no they didn't know better than what I know now. Maybe if Dead and Euro were still alive, they will know more about Quorthon than I do now. Believe it or not, everything they did back then was just to prove they are superior and better than anyone else and more importantly to claim that they were "original" and that they didn't follow in the footsteps of anyone. They were youngsters back then.
Just saw the norwegian documentary on Mayhem.. And Jørn told the press that is was a personal matter between them.. Euronymous or Øystein had ripped Vikernes off..concerning the record deal.. And he wouldn't pay him for the work he had done...Varg Vikernes is actually out for parol this year.
@cjgone out of the "black cirle" thing euronymous had going with varg & others, Varg burnt most if not all the churches, Euronymous only burnt a church down after varg confronted him about taking credit for the burnings varg did
@Mickekick I'm sure Euronymous would see the irony in that. Spanish surrealist film director always poked at the Catholic Church but his son stated he requested last rites so peers might spit on his grave. This may be speculation to keep people guessing and gossiping long after death. As for Varg, unless he dies anytime soon, we may never find out where he'll be buried.
I don't know that I'd call myself a Euronymous fan, but I think if you want a balanced view of the murder read Lords of Chaos or watch Until the Light Takes Us, both about the Norwegian black metal scene in the early 90's. And I wouldn't pay too much attention to anything Vikernes says, read the book, or look for quotes by him to see how many times he changes his story about everything. (the murder, politics, religion)
RIP Euronymous...the true king of norwegian black metal...
Euro's grave is located in Ski, some 36 kilometres outside Oslo, to the south...You can go there by train from Oslo...
R.I.P Euronymous he was great at the guitar
its funny how people are so quick to take Vargs side based only on what HE says about that "event"
Aarseth was a talented musician but a jealous cowardly man many other people in the black metal scene disliked him because of that.
He still created incredible music and I respect him for that. RIP Aarseth Oystein

Hail for his strong dedication for the scene!
R.I.P Euronymous

Euronymous still lives.
I agree... Venom played/plays 'satanic rock n roll'...They just were the first to use the term Black Metal.
Bathory are the original.. none other.
Well according to the official report it was 23 times total. I assume Varg just makes up a random story each time to explain that number, usually settling on a few in the back, once in the head, and then "broken glass" everywhere else. rest in peace dear man. you and your fantastic album is still being talked about 23 years later.
R.I.P Eternal Hails to you.
Euronymous,Dead,old Mayhem...good times..!
\m/
Wow, it must be tantalizing for Euronymous to not be able to burn down the church 5 feet from his tombstone.
Nobody will ever know what really went down that day. I don't favor one over the other, to me they are both good musicians.
WOW. Never saw or even THOUGHT about what his grave might look like or WHERE it would be. RIP Euronymous.
It's so sad. R.I.P. dear Lord.
ALL MISS YOU!!
Thanks a lot
hvor er det tatt hen?
Where is it taken?
@goatboy679 that's my boy, that's the true spirit...
you're rapidly improving in your chase for the right attitude!!!!
...and I'd thought you were a hopeless case...
that's my boy, I'm proud of you!
10 points, my son!
Been there last week!
It was dark and snowy then. +/-2 Km walking from the Ski station to the graveyard, effing freeeezzzy! :D
good video man
R.I.P Oystein!
a hail oystein Aarseth, The legend
Could you tell me what town this cemetery is located in? I plan on visiting Norway one day and coming to this place is one thing I'd have on my list of things to do.
Where is this cementery in oslo? I want to see Him.. he was a TRUE MASTER...
Where is this cemetery, and what is the grave number, if you know, please? I can't find the info online at all, and Dead's information appears disputed.
Could you tell me what the grave says under the name ?
Doesn't look like "Aarseth"
is incredible that you have to aldo state of his grave! I also visited these one day to euronymous, when i´ll go to norway.
Very interesting, something I would have probably never seen elsewise.
yea, I thought about setting music to it after i put the vid on youtube...
Perhaps i'll put a version with music on youtube too one of the days..it would sure as hell add to the atmosphere
Hvor er det han er begravet?
what a beatiful place...
Now please explain how you "help" someone who has the upper part of his skull blown off and the brain splattered over the place (as clearly seen on the picture)?
You don´t think this kind of injury would be instantly fatal? If you don´t think so please elaborate.
Such a modest grave...
absolutely agree
R.I.P.
which cemetery is this? send personal message pref, if someone knows
Were here in Norway is this?:P
What city is that in?
@vinterfroest indeed, neither do I hope...
I heard same thing happened to Dead... Noone deserves to be buried like this - especially when fighting against it
Var ligger hans grav?
Hail Euronymous, without him mayhem is shit nowadays
Yeah, It was all over the news here in Norway a few weeks ago..!
is there a video of Deads grave? does anyone know where it is?
@Darius12235,
Varg stabbed him 23 times. Is it self defense?
Are you serious? Which cemetary is that? I don't recognize it...
i am going to stockholm soon for the fisrt time and i wish i could visit quorthon's grave. just a homage. i wish i could do that
I'm glad some of you complain about him being buried in a churchyard.
Try to find ONE dead death-/blackmetaller who's NOT buried in a cemetary.
Nice.. nice place!!!
without euronymous, there will be no burzum or other great bm...he started the second wave and showed anyone, what music and behaviour against the christianity. i don't think, that varg would had the courage to do same like oystein...he was the right man at the right time, varg was just a follower
According to Varg,Euro didnt get to the knife.Varg had already stabbed him then the chase through the building began
Can someone tel me whats the name/location of the graveyard?
A Mausoleum in the basement of Helvete would be the darkest in my opinion.
Rest in Peace
Hello I'm from Italy, and I'd like to know where His grave is... it would be very important to me...
@Zodist Wow, the irony.
I think this convo has drifted into the reply for the sake of it stage lol
@Zodist True indeed.. Black Metal originates only from Bathory :)
hey where's euronymous grave? in what place?
You live in Oslo? It must be awesome to see Mayhem play there.
I could be wrong but I was told that in Norway the dead have to be buried on "holy ground"
Im not talking about Bathory im talking about Quorthons personality as Dead met him and said he wasnt worth it coz he felt he was above everyone
I have seen pictures of it before but a video makes it a really strange somewhat eerie experience, I don't know how to describe it. Such a loss. HAIL EURONYMOUS!!! 666
the town of Ski, south east of Oslo.
@oterrivelivan Euronymous first attacked Varg and he defended him self but Euronymous saw that Varg is stronger and started running and Varg said himself that from there it was voluntary man slaughter in a way it was still defense because Euronymous would have tried again...
You know this for certain, now that they are gone? Do you commune with spirits?

Ski, 36 km south east of Oslo, Norway
than what responce do you want?
I am aware ov that, doesnt mean just cuz i listen to that album i automatically like Varg.
Hail!
Hails to Euronymous.
Where is this.Mite make the journey one day
@goatboy679
Have you ever noticed that when people agree on something, it doesn't make it necessarily true?
agreed
@goatboy679
Varg wasn't Psychopath, he was and still is artist, and a very good one.
Euronymous was exactly what u said....
@norris3531 Lmfao that first sentence is hilarious. He floated into Mayhem
no problem! hail!
People that are cremated have graves. The bodies just aren't down in there, but they have a casket and everything. Weird I know.
No.
Euronymous' mom told him to close the shop and hi did.
@Zodist that's what i was thinking while watching this
Rot in Peace Euronymous.
@Hijinx1982 yeah same! its Not Heaven or Hell! its only music for me!
rip
@cjgone out of the "black cirle" thing euronymous had going with varg & others, Varg burnt most if not all the churches, Euronymous only burnt a church down after varg confronted him about taking credit for the burnings varg did
@Mickekick I'm sure Euronymous would see the irony in that. omg the grave of Euromymous!!
sux that they closed helvete was like the hang out for the BM bands of the first norweigen wave
It's too bad that all of the real and skillfull black and Death metal bands are dead and gone like Mayhem,In The Woods.. and Old Funeral.
R.I.P
Euronymous is Miskuum!
All Hail to Euronymous!!!
