This song has always been one of my favorites from the musical! I feel like the musical done it 10x better than the movie for sure! I think the song always done a good job at having the audience get pulled it by using this song by also showing how Evan is a social outcast and isn't all that good at making friends. Love this song!
He's pretty good. I get that Ben workshopped it and originated the role but at some point they have to let go of their roles. It'd be like asking Barrett Wilbert Weed to reprise her role as Veronica at the age of 32. Which is not possible.
That beginning dialogue sorta made me realize that I have two sides of how I look at myself and my head is just one big mix of evan and connor but connor is just directed at myself if that makes sense

I’ve seen the movie and since then listened to the broadway version several times but wow this is so much better

Yeah movie didn't hit the musical potential it got but theater used it to the fullest in my opinion
