- Volvo 240 what a timeless classic these are! Very economical in the 4cyl and pleanty powerful pleanty of room and Very safe with pleanty of seating. To top that off they are cheap and easy to work on. And are one of the longest lasting cars EVER made. These Bricks are amazing little cars ad in the wagon model very desirable. Personally I even like the looks of th Kombi / Estate better than the sedan to begin with. This Volvo is a 1 Owner car with around 120,000 miles on it. Make sure and call me antime Nathan 406 544 6919

there's a cool story to this car, the rear doors are exactly the same as the sedan version of that time. Volvo was having a hard time getting rid of the sedans and wanted to sell an estate. Though they didn't have the money to design and produce a whole new one. so they used the same rear doors that they had laying around from the sedan. You can still see that the the top of the rear door slopes down while the rest of the car has a strait line :)
a masterpiece of ingeneering and fabrication, much better than most of others cars in terms of reliability and ease to maintain
Jacques Poirier mine has about 700 000 km on it.
Nathan, greetings from the East Coast. Just wanted to say don't change your style. All the dents/imperfections that you point out helps put sight unseen buyers at ease. I bought my Mercedes sight unseen and got lucky, but not everyone does. If I was in the market for a car and happened to see one I liked, I wouldn't hesitate to buy a car from you. You are what all used car salesmen should be: honest and upfront. Keep up the great work!
Well pleased that you finally got one of these on, I've got a '93 240 in red, one of the very last proper Volvo's before they went over to Ford - sadface ;-(
The good thing is though they just keep going (old Volvo's never die, they just get older!). Servicing is cheap especially as you can do it yourself, high miles don't matter and if you drive sensibly (like fast is an option!) then 30-33mpg is easily done. PLUS it can haul pretty much anything you want within reason.
Awesome, awesome cars.
A thing of beauty
i love the paint color on that car
A Masterpiece of Kinetic Energy!
The thing about these cars is you have to work on them yourself. They are quirky and you must love them to keep them on the road. I am so proud to drive my '86 wagon. I don't see to many of them in the Midwest (USA), but many are see out west and down south. Mine has very little rust on it and around 175, 000 miles on it and I live in Michigan where everything is rusty and there are very few old cars on the road. My only wish is that is was a diesel and manual trans, like they have in Europe.
Men, I love this wagons!
Wow what a nice car! I would love to have it!
one of my favourite cars ever , hope to be buying one soon here :) had to revisit this review
Those are some interesting headrests
you can see thru them, safety feature
+Lucas Kroon never knew that
You seem to find all the gems! Keep up the good work sir!
these old Volvos are solid cars but unfortunately, I've found a lot of TMU (True Mileage Unknown) ones on craigslist when I was looking for a first car 4 years ago. I guess its just a common problem. The same with Saabs. My uncle has an '89 900 Turbo and a '96 9000 CS and both of their odometers have stopped working at times and had to be fixed or replaced. The other thing that sucked is that the speedometer broke too and you can imagine how awkward that must be like in traffic..
Magnifique 👍🚘🤩
i have a 740 in my garage thats mint two owners no rust and 90,000 miles
great video
ge mig om du ä Svensk !
👍 *-*
As I said earlier on your 262 Volvo review, that one is very similar to the one I have.
Got a bit of work to do with mine like changing all the interior carpet, seats and etc.
I will soon get my original PRV engine as well.
I think I'll make a beast out of mine, it has a turbo as well and some good wheels and lowering will be just right for this one.
I don't have a jump seat though, would be of good use to me.
Planning to import a Volga wagon as well from Russia, just because.
Good review :)
wow!
that car is good from far. and far from good lol that car needs a complete paint job. lots of scratches. but those Volvos are tanks, they run forever
I LOVE IT
Yeah, as I recall, those Volvo 760 normally came equipped with, and without turbo.
Not really sure, but the previous owner said that the engine was blown because of too high pressure.
It should be more info on these Volvo's on Wikipedia and all the variety of engine in the PRV family.
Check it out :)
Lol I noticed "Martens" on top of the Volvo logo. That's a Volvo/VW dealer out here in DC. I wonder how it ended up in the West?
thumbs up for the old camera.
you can see it really clear @11:25
@crammage I think the only Japanese cars he deals with are Lexus and maybe Infiniti. I don't see why he wouldn't have interest in a good/rare Subaru. The problem is that there really aren't any exceptional Subarus in the US. All the best ones are in Japan or England.
When compared to using in the US to working on volvos or say a chevy. The difference is still staggering. Domestic parts are still sourced much cheaper. Used or not.
@crammage ALTHOUGH.. I bet he'd be all over a Brat that's in great condition. Those were cool little utes.
do you ever look for 1-2 owner subarus? those are my favorite
those and oldsmobiles but you have already gotten some of those! xD
@CerealMarshmallows cool! cant wait!!
hey man you got any 240 coupes instock.?
@Jallandhara what do you mean not ?!
whats not exceptional about a car that can go off roading as much as a jeep cherokee and get 5-15 more mpg with a turbo awd and a locking center diff !?
Bosozoku exhaust on Mercedes?
Big car..
@CerealMarshmallows what about a subaru xt6? thats as unique and futuristic as it gets
259-191. Next registration: 12-19.
@CerealMarshmallows can't fathom how you dont like japanese cars , i can see honda and toyota because those are just so common , but subarus have always been a little unique and not as common (unless you live in the mountains )
but if you do find one i would be on it like yellow on cheese
How much, Nathan??
@pspfreak1000 YES!!!
This car, believe it or not, is now for sale in Kenner, LA. I just test drove it on Tuesday. I wish it still looked like this though. neworleans.craigslist.org/cto/5935416962.html
GL?
Never really seen a volvo 240 with an automatic gearbox, interesting
Most are automatics in North America.

The 240 does not have serpentine belt
I have a 240 dl. coming from a ford aspire (import) parts are cheap compared to some!!!

THis guy says in the description that volvo parts are cheap.....he has lost his mind
Reed Hall Well - my experience with older (240) Volvo’s is that parts are plentiful and very affordable. Some parts are hard to get which makes then a little more expensive. But they are one of the most affordable classic cars to own and operate
