- NEW YORK, NEW YORK... IT'S A HELLUVA TOWN!
This fall, one of America's classic musical comedies is back on Broadway! With a 30-member cast of New York's most talented singers and dancers, ON THE TOWN tells the story of three sailors on 24-hour shore leave eager to experience all that the Big Apple has to offer, including a chance to discover love with the girl of their dreams! Featuring a beloved LEONARD BERNSTEIN score, lyrics by COMDEN AND GREEN, and breathtaking dancing inspired by the original JEROME ROBBINS choreography, this big, brassy musical comedy arrives on Broadway following a critically acclaimed out-of-town run. The New York Times calls it "one of those rare revivals that remind us what a hit show was originally all about." Come spend a spectacular evening... ON THE TOWN!
Video by Nick Davis Productions. Produced by Nick Davis, directed by Mark Rosenberg. - Zábava
I love how when they get to Harry Potter they're like "I don't know ". 😁
Best Broadway promo video ever. Terrific job by everyone involved!
LOVE it. Love how the song interpretation, the big band orchestration/instruments, the outfits and choreography are true to period, but then the backdrop is modern-day New York: somehow, it totally works!
Now THAT'S how to advertise a musical!!!!!! Can't wait!!!!!
Yeah!
This video is terrific! This is a remake of the video which was also wonderful in 1949. i've been out of NY since 2000 and crying about it. I watch these videos and it gives me a lift all day!
I've been out of NYC since 1983 and I have tears in my eyes right now !!
I cannot stop watching this. Best show promo ever made. Can't wait to see it on stage.
1:24 I'm sorry but the way he said 'daddy' made me crack up
It is so satisfying and exciting to hear LEONARD BERNSTEIN'S original music and this scene acted by professional dancers and SINGERS! Thrilling!!!!!!!
they see more of new york in a day than I do and I live here!
*How to promote a Broadway Musical!*
Impeccable! Leonard, Adolph and Betty, if somewhere in the eternal abyss, have to be prouder than peacocks (if spirits can show pride)!
These hoofers make the sidewalks quake! Such energy, just like the town. Well done everyone!
Wish this could be true to see New York only in a day. Haha
Incredible! I just realized how this is an updated version of the original film scene. Love it! Well done!
As superbly and slickly presented, scenically and visually, the audio and musical-reproduction in this promo is technically state of the art! Thank the gods for stereo and true high-fidelity.
WELL DONE! I would love to see these guys in a remake of the movie!
I would too. At least they'd use the music from the origianl Broadway version.
superb tribute to a classic :)
Wold LOVE to see a remake of the movie with this guys ....

Broadway you rock! Great promo, this is one my all time favorites and this does it justice :)
among the best, and I'm old enough, been around long enough to say, you betcha!
On an even lighter note, there has never been a 'dud' production of this wonderful show.
DVD arrived & the show was Full of Laughs
Unbelievably excited to get to workshop this (and then see the show) in the spring!

I have seen the show. It is Great!!!
Wonderful, can't wait to see this on Broadway.
There you are Broadway! Where have you been??
I can't wait to see this on Broadway!!!
I don't know why but it's kind of funny how it's a 50's (or at least I think that era), but the promo takes place in modern day.
1949
1951
The movie was 1949
Yes but the original Broadway show debut before World War II ended.
If only they had used the time machine to go back and do it then.
Love!!
Can't wait to see it!
Can't imagine where the negative comments are coming from-there are commercial elements, sure, but what comes shining through is such joy. Wonderful.
+Ralph Emerson They tried to recreate this famous scene from "On the Town", but they try way too hard, their voices are just annoying, and they changed the lyrics
Omission Of course i mean damn people just complain for every reason if they didn't do this people would complian that it isn't like the original
Tell me about it.
@@braksnuts9904 The original was a broadway musical, not a so-so movie with most of the better songs left out.
We're very proud that Rolling Orange Bikes is part of the New York experience :) 0.35" Really great!
This will be a must see with James Moore on the podium!
🎶 New York, New York! A wonderful town! The people there live in a hole in the ground! 🎶
I am seeing this show tomorrow for a singing trip!
GO FOR IT GUYS!!!
So excited! Already have my tickets!
What a fabulous revival this was! Saw it twice. Even considered going the next night after my first time.
That’s awesome
New York will never be the same after March 2020.
Tell me about it! I can wait one more year to visit
the editing is excellent
I am so excited for this show I love the movie but I have never seen it on stage before. P.S If promo this good I cant even imagine have amazing the show is gonna be.
Sadly it closed before I got to see it.
I absolutely LOVE the movie on the town and I can't wait to see the broadway show!
I hope you got to see it on Broadway. If you did, you would have been treated to Leonard Bernstein's entire, original score. They dumped most of his music in the film and replaced it with trash. You would have been exhilarated listening to Bernstein's score!! It also helps to hear professional singers. Yes, Gene Kelly could sing a song, but he was not a trained vocalist. Yes, Frank Sinatra was a commercial recording artist, but he wasn't a trained vocalist or a trained dancer. Neither of them had the range and the technique to handle Bernstein's music. That's why they had to dumb it down.
great work guys, it was awesome to meet you.
AWESOME!!
Got my tickets!
New York🗽🇺🇸🕊
Wonderful, just wonderful performance :)
OH MY GOSH
Love this!!!
I saw this! It was so good!
I wish I would have came to New York and saw this show
WOW! Maybe they should do a remake of the 1949 movie that starred Frank Sinatra and Gene Kelly. They did much the same. However, the crowds where so intense that they had to do the scenes quickly or be buried with fans.
Or how about a LIVE TV production like we had with the recent NBC and Fox specials?
Manuel Orozco Yes. Do that. Don’t remake that masterpiece
It would be wonderful to see the film remade with Leonard Bernstein's actual music, because the music and the film made no sense. They dummed it down because they didn't want to pay for professional dancers and singers. Leonard Bernstein score is exhilarating and breathtaking! Withholding that from the public just to save money was a travesty.
Still awesome!!
Yure the BEST!
get it boyz!!!
THIS IS AMAZING!
GOSH! I hope this production makes it through October when we make our pilgrimage to New York and hope to see this show! The seats are rather cheap, too! Only $99 for a balcony. At these prices, the producers surely must hope to see it run a very long time.
Now if they would revise "Wonderful Town"!!!!! WOWSER!
Roger Wilco Went to see the show 5 days ago, the tickets were $39!! Absolute bargain for such a good show! Have a wonderful time!
I saw that price! Gad, I hope it plays through the end of October. Thanks for the first hand report, Laura! Cheers!
bellissimo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Bet they loved the christopher street area 🤣
Gostei muito. Deveriam fazer um remake do grande clássico.
BELLISIMA PARODIA DE UN GRAN FILME. SALUDOS DESDE MEXICALI.
I love these
GREAT video!!!! Love it!
I ♡ Sailors :D : *
A fun and entertaining video!
100% nice!!
It's so slick, there's a sheen on it. Freeze-dried patriotism.
so unfair that many of though people had no idea what was going on. i wish i was there
This is really awesome.
Happy Veteran's Day!
Great singing, great scenery, and those reactions from the random passers-by!! Oh, and the woman in the gray dress at 2:03 isn't bad to look at, either. :)
Daniel Landa Oh yea she was good looking. The scenery was great, the reactions were the best. Their singing was very good as well. I love the part when they arrived to the Naval terrace and Tony the guy on the left in that scene was looking down at the sign when they saluted.
Love this show! Interesting that when this was filmed the Lyric Theater was still the Foxwoods...I didn't realize the On the Town marquis was up before the new signs.
So great that an old-time theater name was brought back.
Without getting mugged!
Read famous father girl by Jamie Bernstein for an insiders look at this creative genius' real persona ! I worked in that office building..the Burlington House...1345 Ave of the America's as a corporate travel agent late 1970's. Left NYC in 1983..miss the Big Apple!!!
What no horse back riding in this version? I liked that they had the shot of the Dakota. Of course that was where Bernstein lived the last 15 years of his life and eventually died.
Where did you see the Dakota? Do you mean the shot at 2:35? I think that's the Plaza Hotel. Same architect.
Peter Cockerham
Oh, you're right!
OK, ahora actualmente MODERNO !! excelenteee!!!! Broadway
