ভেবে গা শিউরে উঠছে ! একজন বাঙালি সময় এর এত আগে গান লিখেছিলেন , ৪০ বছর আগের গান আজ এতটাই প্রাসঙ্গিক , এক ই সাথে ভেবে খারাপ লাগছে যে বাঙালি উনাকে যোগ্য সম্মান দিতে পারল না ! অরুন দা তুমি আমাদের হৃদয়ে জায়গা করে নিয়েছ !!

Lot of people say this is a translation of Tom Paxton's "I can't help but wonder where I'm bound ", but to me it feels like it is also a response. Whereas Paxton sings of a person who sees the world and finds the lack of belonging and purpose in people, just as he feels in himself, Arunendu Das sings of the quintessential Bengali, who is still locked in their life while they search for the meaning in life.
Paxton tells the person with home to rejoice the stability and love he has, and Das marvels at the happiness and freeness the worry-less unanchored traveler feels.

Obviously Mr. Das's rendition was highly influenced by Tom Paxton's song but I like Arunendu babu's version better...don't know why, probably because I am a Bengali?..Or is it indeed better?...lets hear from others.
