Just a note, yes Temu has several junk things that do not last ,BUT now a days who has good quality stuff any more, walmart, target as well sells junk as do many other places AND ALOT come from China, if you sesrch Amazon they SELL majority from China, Temu, Shein, Amazon ALL get from same place...
Temu and Shein just sells it direct leaving out the middle man so they can and will sell cheaper where if they [China or else where] sells from Amazon they have to give Amazon a cut, THAT is why Shein and Temu is giving Amazon a run for their money because they can sell direct and NOT pay Amazon..
So buyer beware ANY where because it's ALL JUNK anymore.

I have a bag of things to donate to Charity on saturday full of toys, clothes and kitchen stuff. It is incredible the amount of things we have in our homes that we no longer use. Let's give them a second life. Good job Catherine ❤️
My mom saved a t-shirt from my elementary school, which I then kept. I'm 59 now. I recently gave it to my daughter for her kids to wear. LOL.
For Christmas and/or birthday cards, I don't remember who but someone told me they declutter at the end of every year. They keep anything with a special message or the last card someone who passed away the year before so you can keep their handwriting. I've stuck with this rule and it's been very helpful.
Im 22 years old but have and makes photo album for my childeren later. My grandmother and grandfather do this of every year and since Im 3 years old I look everytime to this. And I am very proud of this family thing❤
You did a great job of letting go of items that no longer served a purpose for you. And I'm sure the person that received the Cricut was so grateful! ❤
I don't keep cards, but I know that some people punch a hole in the corner of each card and use a clip ring to keep them together. It winds up looking like a key ring.
Been going through and decluttering our hiuse as well. We done took a truck load to thrift shop and currently have another truck load to take. We have sold countless otems as well. Still finding more to sell.
As far as the clothing, the lucky number seems to be #5...5 pj pants, 5 pj shorts, 5 shorts, 5 jeans, ect..you get the idea! I do have additional clothing of different weight phases but again its 5 each and they are sorted by size range and thrown in a bin labeled with size and placed in top of my closet. I do keep additional underclothing like panties/underware/bras/socks.
Photo albums/pics I am still at a loss ee have 20 albums and 3 small bins of pictures....husband inherial his moms pictures which was an insane amount, and of course they are sentimental to him but have noticed they are scattered throughout didfferent phases of life and mixed up and as results sonmany duplicate pictures. So will at later time get new albums to replace the older worn out ones and slowly organize by phase/yr of life and weed out all the many many duplicates. Plus do up albums for each of our 5 kids (4 adults now) so when something happens to us, dealing with all those pictures will be easier for them!
Decluttering all the closets/cabniets/drawers/shelves has been so therapeutic. Still have 3 full tool sheds, a closed in carport full, and the attuc to attck!!! 😧

I keep all of my chords in an individual, clear zip lock baggie with what kind of chord it is written on the bag in black marker.(ie. Phone charger,Bose speaker,Headphones,Kindle),Then I have a small clear container/tote that the baggies go in. It's much easier for my brain to process than having to decopher what each chord is.
My corner cabinet came with a lazy Susan and it’s the best!! I keep my pots in there (only place they’ll fit really) and on the bottom I have appliances - my crock pot, my husband’s coffee pot that he only uses every so often, egg poacher, and containers that I save for holiday dinners that people can take and not return 😂 so the top is things I use often but the bottom is less used. But the lazy Susan changes the game for that corner! Amazing.
I wait until the end of Christmas and I take all my cards and spend an hour reading them and absorbing the good wishes then I re cycle them 🥰
The only cards I really keep are from my Dad. I want to be able to have his signature like I do my mom’s. She passed away 13 yrs ago but I still have the last few cards she sent me.
For photos what we do is each year since we've had children we make a "yearbook" of sorts of all the photos from that year into a shutterfly photobook. I don't have time to design one for myself, it's very time consuming, but they have a feature where they will make it for you which is amazing! So we have one for each year 2018-2023, I have to order the one for 2024. But I am so happy with them and we love looking through them.
I agree with the problem with the corner cabinet. It’s the cabinet in my kitchen that always needs attention.

For cords, I use a shoe organizer that hangs over a door (I have mine down in the finished basement hanging on the inside of the door that leads under the stairs). I have gotten rid of a ton of cords, but do have the ones I kept organized by tip in each shoe holder. I usually keep a couple of each. Even like when I replaced my Roku with FireTv - I put that stuff into a shoe cubby. I picked a clear one so it is easier to see what is in each pocket. Any surplus I put into a box for stuff I collect to take to electronic recycler.

I decided "letting go of more in 2024" is my motto for the year. I have started in my Kitchen and doing one drawer, cabinet, shelf at a time through my entire home. I use the weekends to tackle a space in attic/basement. I want it all GONE
My daughter ordered a Christmas wooden ring binder off of Etsy for her family’s Christmas cards and then brings it out every year as part of her decor.
I put my daughter's baby pictures in a baby book for her she loves it
Your 'Dreaded' corner cabinet in the kitchen can be used for big appliances.

I would try placing a sensor light/s into your corner cupboard if you find it too dark :)
Someone else suggested this too and I love that idea!
Maybe someone already commented but....on the top drawer in your office. If you put sticky tack on the bottom of your organizers they won't shift when you open and close the drawers.
Awesome! I declutter 1 or 2 times per year. I struggle getting rid of some stuff, but it feels so good to have less to clean or organize.

I put our special Christmas cards in my Christmas storage boxes with the decor. This video is so good!!
I have a copy of my photos on a USB stick, which I put in my fireproof safe. Other options: give a copy to a friend or relative to hold on to or a safe deposit box at your bank.
Have you considered putting some Lazy Susan’s in there? That way you can turn it around and you can put multiple ones on each side and stack things up where you can easily get to them.

Hey Catherine, I love watching your videos every time you upload them! I love seeing the before & after shots because they're awesome! Once winter is over, I know I'll need to put them all away so I can't wait to go through my bin of seasonal clothes and maybe my closet. I can't believe how much you decluttered in this video.
Love your videos. Especially these decluttering videos. You give me so many great ideas & motivation.
Just be careful because some cords just charge, others transfer data too & not all have the same speed. For example, my phone has a big battery, & if I want it to charge at super fast speed, I can't use any cable & charger combo. Even with the right charger, the cable matters. On the other end, some gadgets won't charge with a faster cable, too much for them.
So after I did my mega declutter & got rid of all the definitively old cables, I searched for a solution & some youtubers guided me to labels. I recently bought a label maker & now anything not unique/distinctive (like a macbook charger would be) is labelled . What I use stays on the power strip, hidden in a nifty box (I have one of for the internet box corner, one for the office corner, & on the bedroom corner). The rest are in a drawer to be used as needed. & if I end up having too many, I'll purge those I know are duplicates in termes of length/speed.
You save your Christmas cards and use them for large gift tags for Christmas
Thanks for sharing your decluttering journey. I just discovered your videos. I have trouble finding de-cluttering and organizing videos I like to watch because of the music. I honestly would prefer no music. I like to hear the person's thought process and what they're getting rid of and why or just watch them. So often I find the music obnoxious and loud. I hate constantly turning the music down then turning the volume back up so I can hear the creator of the video talking. You did a great job of editing the bit of music that you had into your videos so it wasn't over. I'm glad to hear that you use a buy nothing group. I like to promote them for giving away things and for finding things so you don't spend money on them. It looks like you're off to a great start and I look forward to more of your videos.
I do but sewing supplies from Temu sometimes. I am just not sure about food-grade materials. I have never bought anything that I store or cook food in from them.
Really good declutter - things for some ideas. I put some spaces to go thru on a list for this weekend.

We have a designated tech box for cords and pieces that aren’t convenient to keep with their original tech.

Hi. Watching you clean out your corner cabinet. It's a shame they didn't give you round spinning shelves. My homes came with the corner cabinet with spinning shelves. I never see anyone using them the way I do. I use the top spinning shelf for all baking supplies such as baking spices,cornstarch, sprinkles, choc chips etc. the only non baking on this shelf are powdered jarred gravy mixes. The bottom I use for all my spices and I have a ton that I use, my whole bottom shelf is spices. This works really well I can always find the spice I'm looking for with relative ease. I really don't understand why I've never seen anyone using this cabinet in this way. It may not be pinterest worthy but it is kept very neat and functionally it works very well for this purpose. I realize you don't have rotating corner shelves but this comment may help someone that does and doesn't really know what to use it for.

I have a small pantry that’s like a dark cave and I just started keeping a very bright flashlight in it, and I use it all the time in the pantry. Maybe that would help your corner cabinet.

Great work on the decluttering. I've always wanted a cricut and I did think when I get back into work I will get one but sadly that can't happen now as my Dr has deemed me not fit for work. I will just have to pray I win some money, then I will get one. Xx

I think larger items store better in a corner lazy susan. Store smaller items in containers on shelves or in drawers.

Here's a suggestion to pick up your little ones small pieces off the floor faster. That would annoy me having to pick up piece after piece.

Temu is like a tourist trap! It's a bunch of junk that you don't really need and it's super cheap for a reason. I know things are tight right now, but we need to be supporting our own country not paying another country to buy us out. Buy local and keep the little guy in business, please!

i watch WAY too much true crime. I have no idea who the creator is but the shot grainy photograph of a photograph just shouts true crime victim.
Landfill is ruining low so our childrens houses will be built on rubbish sites so please think twice about binning things…. Could you recycle more things . Even cables people will buy from charity shops or advertise to give away free online
