Anyone else think Maxine Medina’s costume is so under rated??
Like that dress with the head piece is stunning, and the water thing on her arms, 👌🏼.

@@johnjethrotomas2504 kung di kaya manghiram na lang sa isa sa mga natcos sa Queen Philippines. Noong 2016 sa atin ginanap ang MU I expected Maxine to showcase the grandest natcos pero failed.

Catriona's. National costume standout the most. She carried every bit of the Philippines in that international stage. It wasn't just about how sparkly and how shiny the costumes are, it shall also represent our tradition and culture, meaning you gotta do deep research to create a wonderful story to tell in that international pageantry. Philippines is a very diverse and rich in culture, you should have a unique creativity in you, for you to present it well.
she was made to drag a scaffolding, when she could have been Strutting in grace. That costume was ridiculous and a product of over thinking.
@@eduardochavacano I politely disagree. Yes it may have been a little bit of hassle but Cat slayed it, and that makes her more of a queen. Next, It's not a product of over thinking and not ridiculous at all. From my own perception, just like what I previously said, the battle of national costumes is the aspect of the pageant to showcase the culture and traditions of each and every country. As a filipina who loves art, meanings, and history, that costume of Catriona was so overwhelming and full of pride. Yes it doesn't look as elegant and sparkly like the others but it did its job, that is to show our story, our own diverse culture and traditions. It wasn't just the normal Filipiniana that we have acquired from the Spaniards, but rather it was the culture of our ancestors in the pre-Spanish era, the talents of our countrymen, the real treasures of our very own Philippines. Our country is very diverse and colorful in culture, and I was so amazed that Cat brought that all (well not everything but most of it) to that international stage. Again Team Cat didn't overthink it, they are CREATIVE and IMAGINATIVE. Calling it ridiculous would mean laughing at our ethnicity, at our own ancestors, and our own fellow countrymen. But again, our own perception differs. But my mind won't change that Cat's national costume was the most unique, the most timeless, the most wonderful and extra Philippine National Costume that was showcased in that Miss Universe Stage, as of now.
@@eduardochavacano if you’re gonna see the initial phases of her costume construction, it was originally designed to be mounted on her back, but it was too heavy for her to carry it so they decided to drag it on wheels. Would’ve been totally better if it was on her back though, like how it was supposed to be. 🤷🏻♂️
Kahit naputol ni Gazini ang top 10 finish straight ng Pinas Pero atleast bumawi siya sa NATIONAL COSTUME.Puro nlng Filipiniana kasi eh mas maganda IBA naman.Ang rich ng culture natin tapos puro Filipiniana ipapakita

Antonietta Punyeta Well if he designed for Shamcey and Ariella those were great. Plus he also did Miriam Quiambao and other girls. Viva Colombia!
@@eduardochavacano if Rachel's is a joke, then what about MJ Lastimosa's? Rachel's was far more decent. But the importance here is, a Colombian has no job doing a Filipino's national costume. I would also say that if a Japanese or American did our costume. It's meant for ours. Your Colombian only did it because of Stella's bias.

Everything design by Alfredo Barazza intended for filipino candidates is a slap in the face to all filipinos. It's the perfect example why Araneta should stop organising pageants. She's been out of touch a long time ago and i'm so glad she lost the MU franchise.
