Floor originally did this song in her first band After Forever. There’s a great video worth checking out from the Dutch TV show Beste Zangers where Emma Heesters, a young Dutch singer, performs this song for Floor, and her rendition is so beautiful that it brings Floor to tears.
As Tuomas has stated, music is the sound of emotion, and I firmly believe Floor is it's voice.... For me, no one conveys it better. She has a way to tap into your soul and just tug the heartstrings. The cathartic effect is why I LOVE music.
Right there with you, buddy. I have seen this song 100s of times and I break every time. My mom is 103 suffering from dementia, who doesn't know who I am but knows that she does like me. We listen to Nightwish, she likes them(special songs), and much of Floors channel videos and solo projects. So happy I can share it with her. Also ABBA........what can I say. Fernando is a favorite of hers from them.

As Floor's lyrics indicate so strongly, she constantly fakes her smile for all of us. She lost her father two years ago followed by her mom 11 months later. So sorry to hear of your losses. I know how it felt when my mother died after years of polymyalgia and eventually a bowel operation that killed her. That was many, many years ago but it stays with you. Then my father died during Covid lockdown and we couldn't see him in hospital. The funeral was small and delayed 6 months by lockdown. Floor feels this song too and if you watch the Zangers version, sung for Floor by Emna Heesters, they are all affected and you can see just how much it means to Floor. Thank you for sharing. It would have been easy to not upload this but the raw emotion Floor, and Nightwish, can generate is domething that should be shared in all its forms. It's one of the things that define both Floor and Tuomas.

I suffered from cancer ,and after the operation the dokter made a mistake and i lost my kidney,im now batteling for 10 years of that mistake,i have to many lymfefluids and much pain in my belly. Because the mistake i have PTSS. This song wants me to be strong ,but its difficult. Floor and nightwish music helps me a lot!

I feel your pain, I lost my mum 5 years ago to Alzheimer's, she was 86. Her funeral was 2 days before my 47th birthday. Alzheimer's is such a cruel disease but it's not just forgetting who people are, in some ways that's the easy part.

Sadly the disease Floor's mother has, though not life threatening, is very painful and not curable, so I guess she still has 'to fake her smile' many times in her life. If you think you can take it I have a very special Nightwish request for you. The thing with Nightwish is that almost everyone is pushing/requesting their official live videos, and for the largest part rightfully so. But the matter of fact is that there are Nightwish songs that have no official live video (yet). More specific most of their Human:||:Nature songs which is their latest 2020 album of which there yet has to be made a post edited live registration. There is one exception: the song 'How's the Heart' has an official live registration of an acoustic version performed by Troy and Floor. But the song I'm requesting is a ballad called 'Our Decades in the Sun' originating from their 'Endless Forms Most Beautiful' album. It feels in a way very voyeuristic to watch someone break down. On the other hand, it really helps me seeing someone going through the same things, being moved by the same music. My parents haven't passed away yet, but I see them crumbling before my eyes. Please tell your fiancée to give you a big hug from everyone here.
