I dont care what people say. Choi taek deserved to be with Deoksun. He absolutely did. His expressions his actions, they always displayed his true innocent love. Even though he was the shy and quietest one, he knew he loved her and wanted to be with her more than anyone.
When deoksun said to taek " grow up and marry me" it really came true 😂

@@nurullynsea2919 I don't remember the episode number but it's an earlier one. Taek came out to the alley and started drinking his milk while his friends were rushing for the morning bus for school. Deoksun tarries to playfully say this to Taek as she pats his butt. Dong Ryong rushes back and pulls her hair to yell that they were late for the bus. Deoksun screams from the shock and pain from the hair tug and runs after Dong Ryong out of the alley to catch the bus.

I watched this Kdrama last year and I still don't really understand why people still felt that Jung Hwan deserved her more. Taek was going through so much and looked so tired and depressed and Deok Sun helped carry some of that burden, he even relied on smoking just to relieve some of his stress. Without her, he would have just been playing GO(the chess-looking game) without any care for his health and no one to take care of him(well... I guess his dad could, but cmon, I doubt Taek would have mentioned how difficult of a time he was having to his dad). Jung Hwan, on the other hand, didn't have as difficult of a life as Taek did and I also felt as if he didn't like her as much as Taek did too(it took Hwan so long to admit his feelings while Taek basically showed it every episode).
I'm definitely going to rewatch this drama, the ending hit me so hard, it was kinda bittersweet for me, just seeing them move out of their neighborhood made me sad, it was a long 20+ Episode Kdrama, I basically went through their life journey with them. Seeing them grow older and older made me so sad knowing that they would definitely miss the times when they were kids when they would just be messing around and having fun and stay in the same house as a big family with their parents and siblings. This is probably one of my favourite family Kdramas which was sad yet funny, giving me all kinds of emotions.
Exactly. Taek genuinely liked Deoksun and expressed it ever since the beginning. Junghwan had soooo many chances to tell Deoksun how he felt, heck she lived just below their house. The problem with people like Junghwan is that if you're in Deoksun's shoes, you will always have doubts whether the person you love feels as strongly for you as you do for him/her. Junghwan was always full of hesitation when it comes to expressing his feelings for Deoksun and seems to care too much about what the other guys would think if he pursues her, so unlike Taek who easily confessed to his bros that he likes Deoksun as a woman, not as a friend. So yeah, everything was about timing and choices. Taek chose to forfeit an important match once he heard that Deoksun was stood up by her date, knowing that she might be feeling bad and needs company. On the other hand, Junghwan hesitated again and it took him awhile before looking for Deoksun, unfortunately for him, he was too late. Relationships aren't easy, but it is easier to have with people whom you think will always make you their #1 priority.
It also gave me all kinds of emotions. My heart was ballooning and I couldn’t get in with my own life for a while I wonder why 🥹

@@EVL-xj5vc ikr! I kinda had a similar experience. I guess it's because this drama (tbh a few others for me) made us reflect on everything we saw, on our own life as well. Our friends, relationships, parents, dreams, and how it changes for the better or worse, with time and situations. Or if we have friends in our life as good and genuine as them and will they continue being in our lives. Or whether they'll be a person who will love and care for us as Deok-sun and Taek. I guess you know just the not knowing part and the fear of missing out and being afraid of it all. At least that is what it was for me and still continues to be.
He even said that one of the best thing happened in their relationship is that he stopped taking sleeping pills. Also it was shown after they kissed at the hotel.
Taek showed her his love each time they were together. They deserve each other.
I guess i was blinded by my stance in team Junghwan that I didn't see how lovely they were. I still wish the husband was Junghwan but wow Taek truly looked at her as if she was his world and she accepted him for all that he is and their love was just so pure that it was only right..... Taek was honest with himself and that's why they were the better match. 3 years later I finally accept it😂
JungHwan never treated her well. Ever. He didn't treat her badly per se, but he never let her feel comfortable, and he does the bare minimum that a friend should do. If you watch the series closely, notice that she never really smiles around him. She's never allowed to be herself around him. She tries so hard to get him to budge and all it does is make her feel bad. With Taek, she is appreciated, she makes him smile and he makes her smile. They are naturally good together.... And he isn't embarrassed by her, unlike JungHwan. She is a naturally helpful and nurturing person, so she is drawn to Taek. And all he has to do is appreciate her in return, which he does. She's free to be herself. It illustrates the difference between "The person you like" vs. "the right person for you."

@@caomhan84 about the last part, o don't think so cos Duk-Son never really liked Jung-Hwan. She tried to get with him for the same reason she tried to get with the first guy Sun-Woo: cos she believed he liked her and her friends told her too. After the friend in glasses advised her to forget about who likes her and figure out who she liked, she stopped trying to get with Jung-Hwan. Taek was who she liked AND who was right for her.
This is my 2.5y going & i guess am slowly accepting it now🥹
I watched it last year, and i used to think she ended up with Junghwan... But i am glad she ended up with Taek.
Love needs bravery, Junghwan had so many chances to confess, whereas taek who spent more time constantly moving to play the game, the little time he had he gave it to her. Confessed . They made each other feel the main character of their lives. So for me Taek was the choice❤️❤️ and i was so happy when it turned it that way (though i remember shedding a tear when he Junghwan is in the car)
P.S everyone acted SOOOO good. The plot and every character ❤️❤️❤️

My ship!!!!🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 Their bond was so pure and the relationship developed just right... I was always rooting for Taek, even though I thought he wasn't the one at first, but after episode 9 I got hope. Amazing edit and song choice😍😍😍😍😍😍
At the beginning of reply 1988 I was shipping Deok Sun with Jung Hwan, but going further and further I began to notice the spontaneous smiles of Taek as soon as he saw her, the attitude of Deok Sun trying to take care of him in her own way, the fun for the little things like when they ate chips and then Bo ra "let them take the bus" and they stayed on the beach, and all the other great scenes that follow.
I believe that if Jung Hwan had been more decisive and hadn't wasted the opportunities to get closer and closer to Deok Sun this ship would have come true sooner, Deok Sun was trying to get closer to him in that period (an example is that gift, the pink shirt), why did he keep it a wall? Unfortunately, love comes true not only if the feelings are reciprocated, the timing also affects a lot, throwing yourself headlong like that kiss that Taek gave for a moment I THOUGHT IT WAS A DREAM and I was like "NO CASPITERINA". An example of this timing thing is also seen in Strong woman Do Bong Soon.
I like them a lot as a couple, I wish there were more edits of the two of them :(

I watched this movie when I'm about 20 years old. That time I like Jung pal-Duksun couple. when I grew up and watched again, I understand why Taek deserved with Duksun most. He had pure love but he is very decisive. Jung hwan had many chances too. If his love for Duksun was big enough, he wouldn't have missed it

I truly didn’t get the hype about Park Bo gum until I saw his portrayal as Taek. Now his smile is etched into my memory.
Taek is everything Deoksun could’ve needed in a partner. Being the middle child, she finally got the undivided love she was longing for all along. Teak is someone who not only accepts her little quirks but loves them unabashedly. They both suffered a great deal in different aspects of their lives, Teak more than Deoksun perhaps but when together it was pure joy. And yes of course who can miss Teak’s infectious smile whenever he was around Deoksun. Oh how i loved how Taek wore his heart on his sleeve when it came to matters of Deoksun. One of my favourite scene is when Deoksun is sent to give food to Taek and she couldn’t come right back because of taek’s silly demands lol she ends up staying with him causing her to miss the dinner. And now this a girl who absolutely loves food. That’s all the audience needs to know about how they fell in love. And all the times she took care of Teak’s health in silence ugh i can go on and on about the love they shared. It was there all along. Crept up slowly. They balance each other out so well! On first impression, taek might appear like a meek side character but he is the main character which is more evident after the first half. He is tenacious and affectionate. Teak is green flags all the way. Uri Best boy taek ❤️
Also this is the first Park Bo Gum drama I saw and he was barely there in the first few eps so don’t call me baised lol I had no idea he’s the main lead so all credit goes to the actor and the way his character was written and portrayed ✨

Son tan tiernos juntos, siempre me di cuenta de que se complementaban de una forma linda, Jung Hwan fue lindo pero no tuvo la valentía del otro, Taek no dudo casi nunca, siempre supo lo que quería y fue detrás de ello, este triángulo amoroso no es más que una enseñanza, quizás ella pudo enamorarse de cualquiera de los dos, al final no es difícil amar a un amigo, pero Hwan ni quisiera se dió la oportunidad de ser rechazado, como el mismo lo dice, nos deja la enseñanza que nuestro destino se construye con nuestras acciones.
Creo que siempre nos dieron pistas que terminarían juntos.
Al final creo que la enseñanza que nos deja este k-drama.
-El destino no es más que tus decisiones tomadas anteriormente, eres lo que haces y no serás otra cosas más que eso.
-El amor se encuentra en todos lados, no específicamente de pareja, si no familia, en amigos, en vecinos.
-La lealtad es un tesoro valioso.
-El dinero jamás debería ser un muro para dos seres humanos.
Perfecto tu comentario, en todo coincido. Sin duda, un drama que retrata muy bien la adolescencia.
Personalmente; aún no perdono la cobardía de Jung Hwan (como tu lo dices, no se dio la oportunidad).

I remember watching this beautiful show. I shipped her with Taek from the start because they were so precious together but I conceded that Junghwan was a good son and his character set up seemed like a tried-and-true male lead role. I think my mind exploded around episode 18, was it? I kept adjusting my expectations and then boom. Junghwan became a wistful "so-close" to cry over and Taek...got to be with someone he loved for a very long time before any of them were even old enough to understand things like affection.
