War Thunder Player gives AIR SUPPORT In Enlisted

- Today we jump into Enlisted with some good old-fashioned air support using the Spitfire MKVc & The SBD-3 Divebomber. As a War Thunder player, Enlisted offers a very unique experience when it comes to air combat. You get the dogfights which we associate with War Thunder, but also a hybrid of Ground RB & Infantry as you're not just fighting aircraft & Tanks, but infantry units too. Would definitely encourage you to give it a go!
I hope you enjoy the video!

Petition to give the Spitfire a 13 second turn time in War thunder 👀 Join my NEW Discord server! discord.gg/kbHC2KHuje
oh so you mean un nerf it back to pre 1.35 patch levels.....
The spitfire has a 13 second or a less horizontal turn time, you just got to go at the correct speed and turn , specifically the LF mk9 can turn under 10 seconds , so it is not really correct information of the stat cards 😂😂
@@slbathi_wt8528 it never is. As far as I know the AOA is quite de explanation for those turns and not the stat cards
@@explosivecommando9100 then take out the LF mk 9 on a test run , go at 520kmph in level flight at sea level, bank 90 degrees and pull hard on the elevator, you'll be surprised, if you use a stop watch
The War Thunder stat cards are kinda of stupid as they are "at altitudes", if you look the 17ish second turn time in War Thunder is at like 4000 meters where air is thinner
You can tell he plays war thunder because he’ll sustain a 85 degree dive until he is 100m from the ground
And somehow pull up with around 0.00000nm of spare air below the plane... and then blow up because a wire did not render in

The not being able to land at an airfield and repair is my biggest gripe of this game as well.
Like if you look at it.. the maps are HUGE.. the infantry only use up like 10% of the map... there is plenty of room to have an airfield to land at.
But I suppose they dont want people to stay in the air all the time. They want it limited because the only way to win is with infantry.
I would say being able to land is best though, and if you do land even if it kicks you from the plane, then the timer on it is greatly reduced. Sometimes you just don't have targets, or need to go in a fighter to clear ground attack planest hat keep chewing up your team but once you deal with them you just have to bail out.. and that feels like shit.
Oh 100% but my argument is that if you're making the AA so powerful, then you need to give the pilots the ability to land if the do somehow survive a single 20mm anti air shell 😂
You actually can land and repair your plane with tools. It just takes so long to do it's better for your team if you crash and play infantry.
@@power50001562 I got kicked out and returned to battlefield when I tried that.
@@power50001562 How do you do that? Because the moment you leave your plane, you get kicked to the battlefield.
you have to land on the battlefield so you don't teleport. Landing out of bounds is what sends you away from your plane. Trouble is finding a spot to land and takeoff. I did it in Moscow forever ago.
Edit: just tried it in practice mode and it seems they added a damage threshold for getting back into the plane. That explains why damaged planes count as dead the moment a pilot jumps out, before you had to wait for the plane to hit the ground to get the kill. You can probably hop back in as long as your plane isn't totally messed up. Another thing I noticed is I can't seem to figure out how to use tools in practice mode whereas before I could hop out and it was like repairing a tank where you just hold it and it'd repair the plane overall. I have a feeling the change to the way tools work for tanks might've messed up how they work on a plane. I think we need someone with better piloting skills than me to test out landing with minor damage and repairing.
Doing Air SUpport in a team that actually marks enemies in Enlisted.. There is very few games that can give you such a sense of accomplishment knowing that your air support is actually helping the team push and take caps...
Of course.. that only happens 1 out o 50 games because usually the teams are all bots sitting in the back line sniping, and refusing to move onto the completely open unattested cap right in front of them.. but alas.
Fingers crossed that the upcoming steam release does wonders for the player-base. With the recent updates, the game really feels fresh again.
Even better is when someone racks up 30 kills because of your spotting, that happened to me once, and it's one of my favorite games overall.
A tip that I learned by accident is that you can mark in an aircraft from about 1500meters/units away. It becomes extremely useful in situations like cities/forests.
Edit: but yes, having a team that keeps targets marked is a godsend, as tanks (especially against competent tankers) make capping/keeping objectives difficult.
@@WeBeStronk yea uh, steam release kinda not doing so hot.
Thank you for reminding me to play this game again! It has been quite a while! :)
Watch out for the anti-air 😂
The War Thunder I-153 M-62, one of the most maneuverable aircraft in game, has a 13.3 second turn time in Air Realistic.
A5M4 has 12 second turn, Ki-27 has 10 second, I-15 displays 8... Any lower bids?
At some point AA guns was even more cracked because they had enough depression to act like a regular machine guns :)
So it was also a nightmare for infantry as well. A couple of AA guns put on the point and it was nearly impossible to capture. I'm not sure how it is right now but when I played last time, around 3-4 months ago, they were unable to aim low enough. Down the hills anti-air/infantry defence still was possible tho
Such use of AA guns is absolutely historically accurate
@@KleinesStein can't argue with that. But it still was kind of too annoying. No wonders Gaijin made some changes
i remember this lol, it was so easy to just set up even on a flank and just mow down several squads of infantry with the AA or even as u said just put it on a point or choke and it was just ez kills.
I actually kind of miss it. An unstoppable advance coming to the last point, less than 100 reinforcements, left then the AA gun mows the incoming force. It was pretty epic back when it first released.
@@isaacfriedlandercohen4940 it was pretty cool. Now we have mg nests tho and those are more effective anyway. Gonna miss killing tanks with AA tho
CAS in enlisted is actually so fun to play. I love it when I get something like 16 kills by bombing the capture point when the other team is pushing or getting a direct hit on a tank and taking out the whole tank crew as well as a couple other squads that were standing next to it
Where? What killed me? Well, it ain't that unrealistic.
I think the idea of no repairs is so that others can actually have access to the planes other than one single person the entire game. Another point would be the fact that you couldn't just turn around and run away as soon as you had an engine issue in the middle of a dogfight without getting shot down. You had to stay and fight in your coffin.
for sure, I get that - but if I shoot that other pilot down, I'm now stuck with a handicapped aircraft.
@@WeBeStronk part of what happened in war
@@alexanderirving7577Not entirely, militaries like being able to keep their planes in the fight. Granted not all countries have the same logistical capabilities, but most would at least make sure airfields and the like are nearby-ish.
@@brotherhoodofsteeld.c.chap1917 yeah, nearby but not right by a battle. They're usually far away
The leader indicators for AAA actually make sense lol. It's an infantry game with arcade mechanics for vehicles (armor and leader indicator).
I think on why you can't land and repair is its better to quickly die :v than repair so other player can use the plane too since its limited to 2 plane at the same time
As for the AA gun since this game is mainly an infantry game its logical to make them that powerfull since a plane can do crazy amount of dmg to infantry easily as well
Those random deaths you had on the pacific map could have been from the enemy aircraft carrier. If you get too close on that map they will shoot you down.
I think one definitely was
I LOVE a pilot who can narrate the "Why" behind there wacky decisions and I'm happily subbed now. Cant wait to spam watch this guys vids. Aspiring pilot btw
In the Pacific campaign maps you can land on your Aircraft Carriers to repair iirc, I specifically played Pacific Japan to use the Zero after a few thousand hours of already playing War Thunder Air RB, felt pretty good with the land + repair mechanics. Similar to War Thunder that you don't even leave the aircraft, it just resets the position to launch from deck of the carrier as it repairs you.
that was a really refreshing video!
That is a nice solid cannon noise.
It's nice isn't it?
I think they may add the repair features soon since the game is kinda still being worked on and I hope they add the cam that shows how and were you got killed from
i think if you’re able to set it down on the playable map you should be able to get out and repair
Yeah I agree! Or at least make the 'playable' zone for aircraft a tad bigger so I can land in a field somewhere and repair
your riding it like its natural
I am a mid skill level war thunder pilot, but on enlisted I am a demon in the skies. In 2 years of playing I've lost maybe a dozen dogfights out of hundreds if not over a thousand. In conclusion, enlisted pilots are butt.
Since I started playing Enlisted I've been completely hooked on the game's aircraft, unfortunately I don't find many opponents, I'd love to find more people to fly against or with...
I feel like I am going crazy, I remember landing on the aircraft and being automatically repaired in enlisted. Basically does a fade out and then puts your plane in the take off position. I did it with the Japanese planes the first few weeks I started playing
Though it was only in the pacific, obviously.
Oh, sweet runs on IL-2-37. That was fun.
I've been playing WT are yrs and I jumped on enlisted a few weeks ago. All I do is fly and I almost fell bad sometimes for them. Lol
I will add this. But having the lead indicators on aa is good for one thing, and that is most of the players just kinda put up with air craft ripping them appart this mean that one person who has aa in their spawn list actually stands a chance to solo planes.
Will admit forgot you can build it but tbh i have never seen someone do that i just run an aa vehicle so i can remain mobile
bro got the record for not committin warrrimes for 12 seconds
I remember playing this years ago and dominating with air 😂 decent game tbh
How us that swordfish video? Is it comming soon? I really want ro see helis succumbing to the swordfish ❤❤
Already said this in a reply, but I felt I should say it again, when in an aircraft, you can use V to mark a any point, tank, fortification, howitzer, etc. that you see. This works up to more or less 1500 meters and can be done while in freelook mode (pressing and holding C to look around.) I have used it in a range of situations, such as marking tanks that the guys on the ground can't see, marking points I think a rally is (usually when it's in a house/ a place bombs can't reach), or just marking large formations for radio operators to have fun barraging.
P.S: hope this was useful.
great choise of song for the montage XD
Mark V C is such a good plane for low tier. Also another contender is the Italian G.55, I use it at BR V it's just so good.
low tier? Even when all my squads were BR 1 i still faced king tigers and panthers on occasion. my assumption was there is no tiered matchmaking, or at least there are not enough players to do it regularly. It's what is ruining the game imo, when i barely had anything more than a bolt action i was facing teams with STGs, FG42s and 5 star infantry that have more HP as well as top tier tanks and aircraft. Also the the MM doesn't seem to be based of ranks either since i regular see teams that are heavily mismatched like 1 team with 90% silver ranks and the other team 90% gold.
Also i feel they still haven't balanced the factions since the campaign split. Germans having access to king tiger while the best tank the allies have is a Sherman 76. now historical accuracy has been thrown out i don't see any reason to not add tanks like Phersing, Comet or Churchill black prince. Also the fact it's still a "beta" despite being released for years and having an extensive cash shop and subscriptions rubs me the wrong way. I'd love to recommend this game but i cannot because it feels like a low effort cash grab and the devs/publishers really couldn't care less about the game if it continues to make them money and will use the "beta" tag as an excuse for an unfinished game. IMO it's no longer a Beta once you start asking for people's money, now its a product and not a test.
@@xXBisquitsXxlearn to manage your setups
@@user-if4zv5nj5m I replaced all my squads with level 1s with default weapons and it still said BR I-V on the search for battle button. I've even played factions i've never played before and it says the same thing. You seem less likely to be matched against BR5 players but it still happens.
I tried playing with a friend who was new to the game and the first few games were not bad then we ran into a high level team and was absolutely crushed. since you can get so many advantages such as upgrading weapons, soldiers, vehicles and equipment like mines, let alone the BR ratings. even if the higher level players didn't bring the higher BR squads they still have a big advantage over low level players.
I've looked on the forums and it seems to be a common problem for years, even before the campaign merge. Only it seems to have gotten worse now since the Germans and Russians get a lot of late war equipment whilst Japan and allies do not due the the original campaign timeframes.
@@xXBisquitsXx Good news! They added the Pershing.
@@itacticlesnowman726 And it kinda sucks lol, It can be taken out frontally by a PZ 4 and still struggles to deal with other BR 5 or even BR 4 tanks like Tiger and Panther. Its equal to a Tiger at best and more like a Panther yet its BR 5. I suppose now we need the super Pershing or a good ATG like 17pdr.
But i get the feeling they are intentionally making the allied tanks bad since their aircraft are good. Just means there's no point in using tanks at BR 5. I can usually tell if i'm in a BR 5 game if nobody spawns a tank at the start since you would just be feeding free kills to their King tigers.
thjey dont let you repair because i want a turn in the air too, and someone like you would hog the air allotment the whole match lol

When in a naval plane like the SBD, it marks the carriers as repair points. Probably just not marked because the spitfire is not carrier capable.
Oh 100% but what I meant in the video was that non-carrier based aircraft get no option to repair at all.
Back in the day when the game came out, air was extremely op, I guess they tried to counter that with AA, made it op instead

as you have said, one of the bigger problems of enlisted is that you cannot repair your aircraft nor land somwhere safe, you can only repair tanks which is a shame.. on the other hand, planes are the top lethal things that you can encounter in the game unless you have an intelligent engineer who can build AA to fight it
@5:39 yeah AA pretty scary to deal with in Enlisted, especially since the lead marker is not as inaccurate as you'd think
@15:21 Welcome to Enlisted!
@17:38 yes you can die to an enemy bomb in your plane in Enlisted XD

I used to love CAS in Enlisted, but the tech tree update is so trash now

honestly in ww2 no plane just shrugs of a 20mm explosive round to center mass unless your a large bomber of some type and that's just because of there overall size
Apparently A5M4s do with 20mm Hispano rounds with the amount I loaded into one, and that was kind of my point. There's a purposeful misbalancing and tweaking to round performance in Enlisted. I'm not saying AA shouldn't be powerful, I'm saying if AA is going to be powerful, it shouldn't also have an aiming lead is all. To be honest, I wouldn't mind lead indicators to be removed totally, even from the aircraft.

O don't know if it will work for me though.
My natural instinct is to use the WSAD keys to fly because in my mind they work similarly to a flight stick that I am trained to use from other simulator games the last 30 years.
Can't train my brain to work different keys for flying...
My biggest problem when flying is that allied troops are not marking enemies on the ground for me to bomb or strife.
This makes me lose time flying around trying to spot targets making me a target for AA guns and enemy planes that know I am there and easy to spot and got tailed.
Second problem is that planes have am bad flight model.
At least the ones I have flown like the Hurricane.
Mouse and keyboard is so bad at flying.
I think the aiming reticle needs to be reduced to a reasonable firing distance. The indicator is fine but being able to shoot at someone fleeing at long distances is quite unrealistic. There is no advantage to dive and run cause as soon as you bank they have an easy chance to spray and pray. Would like to see more skill involved in dogfighting. In WW2 fighter pilots average range of engagement was 50-100m.

5:37 you were most likely shot down from the ground by AAA.
Also, excellent piloting man!
edit: japanese machines are super durable for some reason unlike in real life, their tanks easily take m9 bazooka rockets from the sides and sherman shots and planes shrug anything off.
Appreciate the kind words dude!
The armor values are messy, and there is a lot of wacky damage values on many tanks. For example, the Puma can take hits real well and even bounce shit with the wheels.
Just like war thunder, the 20mm Hispano can only tickle an enemy aircraft
It's a menace to all panzers, though. But I would argue that hispanos are just as powerful as any other 20, if you can actually hit. But then, at that point, 12.7 or even 7.7 do it anyway. Just a matter of holding the trigger down a couple seconds longer.
you can penetrate all vehicles with everything but small arms
The anti air is realistic, aside from the lead indicator
You can press x to exit the plane if its gone bad
casual war crime in the intro lmao
We love to see it 😂
So I've played a lot of enlisted and I spend a lot of time flying (I bring 2 fighters and 2 attacker/bombers in every battle) and my biggest gripes are the same. No way to repair. You get hit by even random small arms fire and you can easily be fucked with no way to recover your air craft. The fact that ground based (and let's be real planes) have a leaf indicator is far too much hand holding. It's not hard to lead a plane, and it's incredibly easy from the ground when you have every advantage on the plane that can't know you're there til it's pretty much to late.
Also as to your plane bouncing around randomly I suffer from that issue but much more prominently when flying my p51 so idk what's up with that lol
Yeah I mean I wouldn't mind having no lead indicator as well to be fair, would certainly make dogfighting more skill based, the trade off maybe is increase marker detection range for spotting air targets.
At 20:19 the bombs ricocheted off and then back into the tank damaging it
bro tried to commit a warcrime
The 20 mm seem to have ap only bullets
Maybe I am a pervert, but I always use I-153. I use it even at 5 rank. 8 good rockets, 4 machine guns, they are weak though, but usually it's enough to kill 1 or even two planes. The excellent turn time and the good climb make this plane so good in dogfights. You can literally dodge enemy planes shooting at you.

While I agree that airpower needs to be able to retreat to repair not just rearm, but your statement that ground AA shouldnt have a lead indicator tells me everything i need to know.
The lead indicator that they get is no different from the lead indicator that you get when engaging enemy air, the fact that you want the ground AA to have that indicator means you dont want a balanced game, you want a game where an aircraft can only be countered by top tier AA players who also have to contend with enemy armor and infantry AND air targets while all you have to worry about at that point would be enemy air. You win the air battle and then youd have free reign to ruin the entire game for your team and the enemy team by being uncounterable unless youre a top tier AA player with a lot of luck or a hacker.
Can an aircraft be taken out by AA without a lead indicator? Yes, Shit last time I played enlisted I took out a pilot as a sniper because they flew basically straight at me for more than long enough for me to shoot through two reloads and land a lucky shot.
Dont complain about a game balancing all forces and making the game more level so that single plane cant tilt the balance of the entire servers game so far into the redzone that the only thing that can stop them is a god AA gamer or a hacker that just aimbots the pilot.
Now if you DIDNT have the lead indicator against other planes in the air, then the ground AA shouldnt get a lead indicator, considering your spitfire didnt have a targeting computer to give you a calculated point of intercept for your guns, the zero doesnt have a t-comp. None of the planes then had a t-comp, yet you get lead indicators?
In other words, Accept the fact that the ground has an answer to you if you slack and try to fly around like a jet on a bf-4 (no Igla no stinger, only RPG/SMAW) servers. Once you accept the fact that the ground can and will contest you and fly accordingly you will end up flying more realistically, as well as get taken down far less often. This isnt WT arcade air battles where you only have to worry about aa if you fly near a carefully dev placed AA location or the enemy airfield.
Edit: the devs dont have to do shit about the AA, accept the fact that you are in a paper thin metal hull dealing with HE munitions that were historically known to take down a plane in one hit unless the plane and pilot were very lucky. Air is high risk high reward, If you can outplay the AA with the same lead indicator that you have then you can dominate the ground. Its an entry barrier to ground domination, by default you shouldnt be able to dominate the ground outright without being challenged.
I'd rather them remove the lead indicator from planes too than have the AA lead indicator - that's fine by me. It's not a matter of this vs that, the argument I'm making here is that if AA can so easily shoot down aircraft, then those aircraft also need a way to repair their damages.
Please don't assume you know what I'm thinking just because of the way you're interpreting it. I'm not saying AA shouldn't be powerful, I was implying that AA shouldn't be powerful AND have a lead indicator. For whatever reason you seemed to have anchored on the lead indicator comment when the whole point of what I was saying was about the lack of repairs.
That's a very long comment that makes a number of points, but the fact you open it with 'you having this one opinion tells me everything I need to know' just tells me everything I need to know.
