nakadepende parin yan sa klase nang pagturo.. ang masasabi ko lang wing chun is not meant for ring sports fight or yung may rule fight .. wing chun is meant only for self-defense purposes. Kaya may mga post ng kung ano-ano jan na ang wing chun daw na practitioner na talo ng isang mma fighter, ehh practitioner pa yan! or aka master ba kamo ang tanonh legit ba?? ang problema eh, may rules na sinusunod pag nasa sports ka at dun nababalda ang wing chun which katulad ng pagtusok sa mata, chop or strike sa neck, groin kick etc.. kaya nga ang wing chun is pwede sa lahat ng ages kasi di kailangan ng masyadong endurance sa training dahil sa mas practical mas direct ang strike.
i tried no rules fight against a wing chun master.. he lasted 5 seconds, wing chun master tried to low blow me, he ended up having his face upper cut.. i had never met a real wing chun master who actually survive a streetfight. heck i can beat your wing chun grandmaster with one hand tied behind my back..
@@saladinyamamoto8336 there are many lineages of wing chun.. it depends but still it depends on you on how you goin to apply but itsl more favors to the people who's are open minded if you have a background on the other martial arts and when you train wing chun, then you'll see how effective it is. Coz you can add some techniques from other then combined it..

@@saladinyamamoto8336 they are dead meat only in sports because there are rules and so many wing chun techniques are prohibited such as striking in the eyes, grabbing the troath and other wing chun techniques which is prohibited in mma and boxing .... You will see the effectiveness of Wing chun if there is no rules.

i believe a wing chunner should be practical and updated, not stick to traditionals. Anderson Silva is a wing chunner but he is updated and adaptive.. Bruce Lee did not stick to Wing Chun only, he studied other martial arts and test whatever style that works in real life..
@@saladinyamamoto8336 Go look up Qi la la wing chun. He even made Wing Chun work in an MMA context. The main problem with WIng Chun nowadays is that they don't pressure test it in sparring or real fights to understand how to adapt the dynamics to real situations.
And by the way, just because you haven't seen something, doesn't mean it doesn't exist. A real simple example would be oxygen. You never saw it, but it still exist. A more appropriate one. You never saw me, I still exist.

Depende sa paggamit, or kahit sa gumagamit, kasi maaaring panget ang kalalabasan lalo na kung ikaw yung aggressor o yung nanguna, pero kung self-defense lang ang purpose mo sa Wing Chun, ayos lang yun, self-defense talaga ang purpose ng Wing Chun. Kung bihasa ka na or napakagaling mo na sa Wing Chun, wag mong iyayabang na kaya mo yun sa actual fight, for self defense lang yan, kung sakaling binully ka ganun. Pwede yun.

It is important to punch straight and it might give the punch more power but the punches are designed to deflect and keep on going to the target, so what really happens is, you loose your guard and open yourself up for attacks to your center. Also even though the straight punch in Wing Chun is powerful enough, it is not a super powerful punch compared to punches from other systems. It doesn't need to be though, because how much power do you really need to punch in someone throat and really damage them permanently. The punches are designed to be faster than your enemy and just powerful enough when you hit the target, to actually harm your oponent. They are not KO punches really.
If you condition your body correctly with the so called internal training aspects, the punch can become really powerful and nasty in a different way, because when your body is allignent correctly, you are not throwing fist, but your whole body mass moves into the oponent.
It is also true for other styles, just accomplished differently.

The most useless self-defense/sport martial art in the world. Any expert of this crap can be beaten by anyone with or without fighting background. However, the Ip man movies are awesome.
@Revan of course you would say that. But here is the thing, the upper body expertise mambo jumbo you are talking about would still not suffice on a real fight (be it a defensive one). The art of wing chun has been proven "worthless" (just ask Bruce Lee) in any type of fight. On the contrary, I would say it is a fancy type of martial art and may be used as a meditative exercise.
@Darcaxan there are no 30 years trained wing chun grand master has ever survive a fight against a 6 months trained Amateur Boxer, or a 1 Year trained MMA fighter.. all winh chun grand masters and direct descendant from Ip Man were defeated in 2 seconds..
