The only thing that Smash Bros. needed was the availability to customize (which Nintendo would never allow, unfortunately...)
And all the gag characters like Clippy, the Cheeto, and even Ronald Mcdonald were freaking amazing! Love it, hope it gets a lot of love!

I love how many references there are in their move sets. Like Ninja Brian showing up and using Danny as a weapon (great against necromancers). And-- is his special jump eating a bird from the sky?? Love it!
The fact that Ronald McDonald does the Dio "reeee" stance is nice.
Mugen Engine is a fighting game thing that did this bit like a decade ago. Custom made characters and attacks. Dio (from Jojo's Bizarre Adventure) was uber memeified by that game. And then someone reskinned Dio as Ronald McDonald. So the homage is there.
It absolutely started in mugen, but I always remember it from when somebody recreated it in rivals of aether with a bot ai to absolutely turn him into an unkillable god
The fact that I've never seen jjba but still recognised that stance 😂 to be fair my best friend is a huge Dio fan
i just really appreciate how 'thorough' they were at adding the Grumps in...with legendary lines like "Infini-Dagger!" and deep cuts like Arin mentioned about GirlChan, they made a lot of really good References with their movesets...

I have ZERO clue what Smack Studio is, but if it makes Dan and Arin happy, then it makes me happy
It's obviously a Smash Bros. clone.
Its Smash, but you can make your own character using sprites within the game(I don't think you can make the sprites itself in the app, but you can animate them and give them moves(or use your sprites for in game moves - like turning the generic missiles into fish or something). The sprites are 2D, but are given a pseudo 3D appearance in game using the in-game engine.
*TLDR Version: *Think Mugen, but instead of Street Fighter, it's Smash, and the characters can be made/edited in game.
You can make sprites in the game too!

That is indeed the exact same Ronald McDonald that's infamous among Rivals of Aether's steam workshop custom characters. People would make him into like a custom OP boss fight in that game. Or pit him against Ultra Instinct Fox. It's uh.... it's something alright.

I like how Dan uses almost nothing but dash attacks and still manages to beat the shit out of Arin.
Dan claiming he's not good at smash and then edge guarding as a blue flaming hot Cheeto to victory is not something I'd thought I'd see today, but is something I needed

I've seen footage of this game forever ago and I vividly remember that Ronald McDonald is the most overpowered character in existance.
