I have tried offering up the awning to the van first but in my experience, it is much easier, to set the tent square out and blow the awning up first. Once the awning is erected then it is simple to move the van up and down a bit, to fit the awning to the van.
Rather than dragging the awning over the ground, it’s easier to offer the awning up to the drive away kit webbing pre slotted into the van and then put the 1m plastic tubes/poles over the webbing and the awning in the right place. Then put the awning up. When taking it down remove the plastic tubes/poles before driving away.
Very poor & potentially dangerous advice to suggest holding onto the FO8 strips as someone drives away... Pull out the kador strip, and the FO8 strips to disconnect the awning before driving away 🤷♂️ How you suggest connecting is a real ham fisted & awkward way to do it but there are a number of ways to do it but there are far easier ways
