Yeah, glad to hear he can bat from both sides of the plate, so hopefully they will pick a position and let him play. You can't platoon 5 positions in the playoffs, it might work in regular season with injuries, and giving guys a break.
What kind of irks me about the 3-way trade is that we traded away Vargas and 2 prospects for Kopeck, Fedde and Pham and then sent Fedde and Pham to St Louis for Edmons? I think I would rather have Fedde and Pham.
That is what happens in multi team trades... can't do anything about it. We didn't send Fedde and Pham to StLouis, they were what the cardinals wanted and we were trying to get Crochet and Robert Jr and in the end, the White Sox stood firm, to their own detriment. That is what losing teams do...

My grade for the Dodgers' entire trade deadline haul is a solid 'A' (landing Flaherty was what pushed it there for me, well done Friedman). Would've been an 'A+' had Friedman 1) NOT hastily dealt Ryan Yarbrough for another aging weak-hitting OF (Kevin Keirmaier) who's already admitted this will be his final year in MLB, and 2) Teoscar had gotten signed to a nice short-term extension. If Edman finally proves he's 100% over his injuries like Lux has already done so far, Dodgers won't have to bring CT3 back at all and can just let him go after this season. And if Kopech continues to respond positively to the Dodgers' way of doing things as far as their track record of resurrecting pitchers' careers go, he's gonna be a HUGE addition to the bullpen mix moving forward.
Look at the BP deadline closers or set up arms with strike out stuff / low ERA and the much higher the cost is now to get them. AF really dropped the ball here not to overpay for Tanner, especially since he fleeced Flaherty. Hoping that does not cost us the ring.
Jack Flaherty average just 5 innings in his last 6 starts. He's also injured. The bullpen already taxed and overused. If he's just giving the team 5 innings, the bullpen will be even worse.

Dodgers didn't get any Elite Outfielders at the Trade Deadline 😒 😤 Kevin Keirmaire is retiring and isn't hitting, Tommy Edman will probably be out until September!!! Everyone will be back by September when we are fighting for a playoff berth at best!
Vargas was never used properly. Got to see him with the Quakes and he was a 3rd baseman coming up. Following year got bumped to the outfield position because Muncy clogged his path to 3rd. Then while barely starting to learn the outfield he gets moved back to the infield 1st base and some 2nd base. When Lux goes down he gets put to 2nd with very little experience and then expect him to put up minor league number while learning a new position and recovering from the injury. Just feel he was never put in a position to succeed. Most of these Top Dodger position players dont get to dibute with the club at their natural position and our expected to be stellar, when their leaning on the fly. Look at Busch with Chicago got to focus at 1 position and hasnt been bad a pretty decent bat, much as what he expected to be a younger version of Max Muncy little less pop, but better AVG. Also, look at 3rd base has been a need and the Dodgers have Kody Hoese who is a 3rd baseman now and 3 years ago was their 2nd best prospect behind Busch, he's now 27 and still hasnt debuted with the club.
All he had to do was hit, his favorite position on the field as DMAC said. And he didn't even do that. He is not better than Freddie Freeman (1B). or Mookie Betts (2B) or even Max Muncy (3B) for that matter. And he cant play outfield, looked like he was on skates. And he is not better than Ohtani as a DH. So where do you play him, bench? The Dodgers did him a favor trading him, just like they did for Michael Busch. If he could have did better than any of those guys he would have played. But the sad fact is he didn't. Sucks to be him and any prospect stuck in the same position. The best thing the Dodgers can do is move them on so they get a chance somewhere else but end the end it is all up to them.
@vincentsaunders4773 Muncy has been on the IL pretty much all year he could have played 3rd his natural position. You forget he didn't hit last year because he was recovering from a broken thumb in spring training. You forget they still had him playing was just told not to swing, so it altered his swing, and he admitted to it. Outfield, you prove my point he was barely learning the position the year prior to when they moved him to 2nd because of Lux injury, so he had to learn a new position. So if he is learning a new position, that means he's using most of his time trying to learn the position and rehabbing the broken thumb. You also forget he's only 22 years old he's still growing into his physique, and he's a pretty big guy. Also, he has time to develop if put in the right position. This year he was just put in as a platoon lefty/righty match up in a new position he was barely playing again this year in the minors. I live close to one of the Dodgers farm system teams and follow alot of the minor leaguers, and trust me, this kid will be better than Muncy. Dalton Rushing and Diego Cartaya should of been traded now that they still have some value for being top prospects, but they will be busts.
@@juanma6020 If he hit the ball like the Dodgers hoped he would, he would still be here and Lux would be gone. Unfortunately he didn't hit and he wouldn't have been satisfied sitting on the bench or playing in the minors for a couple of years waiting for someone to get out of his way. They did the best thing for him by moving him to a place where he could play now and get a reset to his career. I am not knocking Vargas but like the Dodgers, I had hoped for more. But I wish him success in Chicago and hopes he comes back to haunt us.😀
I respectfully disagree, Doug. This trade deadline was a C- or D. They acquired a pitcher with back issues (ring a bell?) and outfielders who can’t hit. The only good thing was Kopech; they can work with him. Their chances of winning the World Series haven’t changed much. Why? Too many options. There’s no set squad, and that’s the problem. How are they supposed to play as a cohesive team when players don’t know if, when, and where they’ll be starting and playing? The only set players are the catchers, Freddie, Teo, and Mookie (when he comes back), and maybe Muncy. Until they get a consistent group of players out on the field every day, it’s not happening. No consistent hitting/at bats, they have no chance of getting better averages or having them. What strikes me is that there are so many great minds in that office, yet they can’t seem to figure it out and make things harder than they need to be.
Can we talk about how biased Doug is about Kershaw? Ever since Kershaw’s 6-run implosion in last year Game 1 NLDS against the Dbacks, Doug has been defending Kershaw, saying that he was pitching hurt. Now that Kershaw is back a threw a similar clunker yesterday against the Padres, that was eerily reminiscent of his NLDS performance, it’s been crickets from Doug. Doug, time to call a spade a spade and admit that Kershaw is washed up and simply doesn’t have the fastball velocity to get MLB hitters out. We all need to stop living in the past and realize Kershaw just isn’t the same pitcher that he was in 2017. How many more times do we need to see him implode on the mound before saying enough is enough?!
Yes Kersh needs to not be a starter . He's washed up ! I think the should use him like they did Yars ! Innings eater for when dodgers play below 500 teams .

Dodgers didn't get any Elite Outfielders at the Trade Deadline 😒 😤 Kevin Keirmaire is retiring and isn't hitting, Tommy Edman will probably be out until September!!! Everyone will be back by September when we are fighting for a playoff berth at best!
Dodgers won off-season. Dodgers won trade deadline
Dodgers got swept.

@@jinjostar stating the truth doesnt make me a padres fan. I’m a Dodger fan who is not happy with winning everything but WS.
But I wish him success in Chicago and hopes he comes back to haunt us.😀
Goat Ohtani 🐐 Jack Flarety is a bomb.
Go Goathani
DMAC tells how you feel about Robert’s 😅 If we don’t win the WS he needs to be fired. 😮
Go! Tani!
Should've traded Dave for half full can of coke

We talk about dave Robert's loving guys but we love kershaw... reality says he has declined last five years.... its time to face reality. Let the young guys play because they are producing the same results.
Dmac is the ultimate Kersh glazer. Dude is washed up & dmac still thinks he's gonna be lead us to a ring 🤣🤦♂️
Not sure why they rushed Kersh back, should have let him do more rehab starts. His rehab starts weren't that great either, what made admin think he could pull it all together in the majors. Just waiting for the news he is back on the DL.
