How to propagate Philodendron Micans using three different methods. I tried using perlite, sphagnum moss, and expanded clay pebbles (LECA). I tried three different methods of propagation of Micans to see what works best.

Your comment gives me hope since I bought a cutting online and the seller did a terrible job packing it. The description said "3-4 leaves rooted cutting" but he sent a 3-leaved fresh cutting with only aerial roots literally packed into dirt (tip first =/, and leaves inside the packed dirt) and then covered in coconut fibres and plastic. The top two leaves were in the packed soil so they were almost done after three days in shipping and the bottom leaf which was the only one outside of the pack got beat up because the little packet was placed inside a larger box with no padding. The seller did not respond to any of my messages and while I could request a refund and send the cutting back, I really want to have this plant. Oh, and this just happened: I knocked off the best looking leaf while handling the cutting. That node just went into a glass bottle with moss under a grow light in a warm place. I really hope your comment stands true and I'm able to get at least a couple of vines from this poor poor cutting.

I will suggest that for pearlite i’ve always almost had much more success by getting chunky pearlite and filter out all the dusty pearlite. with the dust in there that chokes out my cuttings and they never root good. my go to setup is pearlite in an orchid pot, and after i plant my cuttings i top with damp moss to lock in the moisture

Re perlite, when I use it for rooting I often half submerge a nursery pot of perlite in a container of water because I find otherwise the perlite doesn't hold enough water for good rooting. This might be an environmental issue in my area, but I definitely haven't found it has as good wicking action as moss.
