I've bought many small young pandas
all loose there colour turning white like u said buy older bigger fish there more stable tricolours are my favourite the colours are more stable.

Why tri colour oranda change black to orange colour in glass tank

Black is a very unstable colouration in goldfish, so it can change and develop Quite a lot. Generally, the fish change to orange or white as they grow. Thanks

I would say they were around 3-4 inches or bigger 😊
