Regarding The Beatles single it’s strange but the situation in the U.K. seems the polar opposite to the U.S. Here the 12” was very limited with a few stores I know locally only getting 1 copy, meanwhile I was in one of my local HMV branches today and they had a restock all be it small quantities of the black 7”, the clear 7” and the CD. They didn’t even get 1 copy of the 12” for release day and haven’t had any since and here HMV is the main chain of record shops.

There is also a Barnes and Noble Social distortion exclusive on white vinyl, AAA all analog sounds pretty good just gave it a spin.
The new remixes are mixed. It’s awesome hearing Love Me Do and She Loves You in stereo for the first time, and those early two track singles and songs from their first two albums that have always had really hard-panned stereo channels sound glorious in proper contemporary stereo.
I think the Rubber Soul and Revolver tracks hold up the best. The A Hard Day’s Night, Beatles for Sale and Help! ones are hit and miss.

The Beatles remastering is wonderful and the pressing is ultra quiet---no need for the half-speed mastering at $75.

Love me do is the first single version in the uk not the usa hit version that is on the please please me album… but that’s nothing compared to the garbage mix of I am the walrus…

Agree that this Beatles release is a disaster. I preordered the day it was announced, the tracking info says the 17th??? On top of the insane shipping costs, it’s a real bummer.
Ordered mine on the main Beatles website, and it BARELY shipped out. Meanwhile, it's already available at the Record Store i regukarly shop at.
yeah got my now and then copies today (started shipping ON THE 2ND) and I didn't get the clear record.. fun. and on the 10th the Red and blue supposed to start shipping.. I pre ordered day 1 ... Paul start shipping a week or two BEFORE the release date? (I have no idea who does the shipping)
@@SMPandanic yeah, on the morning of the release the colored variations of the red and blue were selling out, so I panicked and pre-ordered. I should’ve waited and just went to the record store.
It seems very weird that we pay in advance YET get the records later than everyone else. It’s a bummer

The Beatles red and blue re-issues are absolute and utter crap. Disastrous mastering and pressings like all recent Beatles vinyl releases.
The 2012 vinyl re-releases are the ultimate versions, blowing even my 70’s originals out of the water.
Vinyl releases, except occasional high end releases from Analogue Productions and both Neil Young and (SOME!) Tom Petty releases recently, are generally underwhelming and are a disgrace to the medium with utter poor quality pressings full of pops and clicks out of the seal (never had this in the 70’s, 80’s or 90’s!) and crap LOUD mastering lacking any detail or nuance in the sound as they are simply too lazy and greedy to invest in a proper (analogue) vinyl master, @The ‘In’ Groove
Computer generated Beatles pass. Expect more from old icons built from sources that have nothing due to the song. Lennon wrote for himself not the Beatles, his voice isolated and enhanced, Harrisons licks cut and pasted from All Things Must Pass sessions. Thinking records companies already planning to profit from AI and cut and paste.
