Recently bought one of these (Latitude). I too had an earlier model Cherokee Trailhawk (2015). I went with a few less features to keep it under $40K ($37K is what I paid - coincidentally, that's what our Trailhawk cost in 2015). I've been driving it for 2 months and I really like it. Plenty of power and torque from the 2 liter turbo. Handles well in town, on the highway and even twisty back roads, and is very comfortable. You can up the price a very quickly with options so (in my opinion) if this is what you want, you also have to decide what's important vs. what's not on the options. This is our third Jeep product since 2005 (we had a Wrangler before the Cherokee) and we like them. I do like the updated tech, especially the screen - and for our purposes, the cargo room is adequate. For me what sets the Compass apart from its competitors is (1) the "baby Grand" look inside and out; (2) all-wheel drive is standard - plus the 4 x 4 system, to include locking it in if needed; (3) the power and torque are very good for the size/weight so its got a whole lot more "go" compared to the 2022 and earlier models, as well as most of its competitors - you get up to speed quickly without issue and passing is a breeze. Good all-around compact SUV.

I'm someone that tends to hate on Jeep alot for reliability reasons. But this is a very nice vehicle. However it's more money than what im willing to spend in this category.

    I thought the 2.0L had 270 HP, 295 lb-ft Torque.

One obvious loss: you don’t get the Trailhawk option for the price.
