Oh man, I had one of these - a 1961 model in one of Maurie Mattingley's frames. A far better rider than I ever became won an Aussie championship on it.
ESO engines were not only used in motorcycles - in the mid 1960's Ray Platt raced a very quick compact speedcar at the Windsor RSL Speedway in Australia that was powered by an ESO engine.
Lovely sound and I can almost smell it.
Smell of castor oil. Yummie!!

I have a stunning example of one of these, just wondered how much they're worth these days?
Simon, whatever you can get the purchaser to pay on the day
More speedway clips channel: dutto78 👍
Does sound nice though....
Doesn't sound as good as a two valve JAP, with their more throaty growl !
