Gadisar Lake & Folk Song in Chhatir at Jaisalmer Rajasthan India

Maharawal Gadsi sensed and observed the agony and pain of his people to fetch drinking water from distant places. He built a rain water conservation lake in the 14th century. It was once the main source of drinking water for the entire town of Jaisalmer. Now a tourist spot, there are many small temples and shrines around it.
The beautiful gateway that arches across the road down to the Lake was built by royal courtesan named Tillon in the end of 19th century, known as Tillon Ki prol (Gate of Tillon).
