I am a new subscriber. This was a very informative podcast. I am very interested in how to best use Ravelry. I look forward to more podcasts on Ravelry.
As far as entering them into the Ravelry I would just treat them as any yarn. All of the nice yarns can be seen here: www.ravelry.com/yarns/brands/ice-yarns For the weight you can weight several at a time and add that together to get your total grams so when you enter it, the system will figure your yardage out. As far as storing them in their shelves, I would sort by the great fiber content it has. For example, if it is 70 wool and 25% nylon I would just put it with the wools and by weight.
I do want to say that selling yarn on Ravelry is not like selling yarn anywhere else. Ravelry does. It promote you detached yarns. I think I touch on the process in one of these Ravelry 101 videos but all you do it got the yarn you have put in your stash that you want to sell. And on the right side there is a drop down arrow that allows you to put it in a destash mode. Then in the comment put the price you want and if there will be a shipping charge. If someone is looking for that yarn and contacts you then you should receive and email and a notification through Ravelry. When we moved 2 years ago I added all my yarn while packing. It was a lot of yarn. I have not kept up with that.
I hate moving, I am sure that was a pain. We moved 5 times in 6 years and I refuse to move ever again.
