I honestly keep forgetting just how famous BTS is because they all act so dorky and cute and i just watch them from behind a screen, but i still fee like a part of them you know? But when i have the realization that they are indeed famous and popular and had all these awards and recognition, i start crying because i have been with them so long and i am sooo proud of them.
Although what ARMYs feel about them cannot be expressed in words..u kinda summed it up pretty well

11:00 the tickets went on sale in the middle of my calc class. I knew that if I randomly walked out to “go to the bathroom” with my laptop the professor would find it suspicious so I hid my laptop behind a trash can in the hallway. The plan was to leave class five minutes before sale begins, retrieve the laptop, buy ticket quickly, hide laptop again, get back to class. I thought this would be max 10 minutes. I was not expecting the whole queue thing! After 15 minutes of waiting I needed to get my ass back to class so I decided to take my laptop in because I was still in the queue. I walked in after spending an unusually long time “in the bathroom” and made way too much noise opening the door. Everyone was staring at me and were like where the heck did you get the laptop from. My professor high key hates me now. But it’s ok! An hour later I was finally out of the queue and I bought a ticket!

So one of the last few tweets, the one about how BTS alone made K-Pop mainstream? I have like... a bit to say about that. I think when contributing to making it mainstream today, they definitely hold the most responsibility. But I do think that there were other artists and groups before them that did sort of... pave the way, so to speak. Girls Generation, for example, was a group that broke into U.S media a while back. And while you didn't see their name *everywhere* (I don't think, anyway, I could be wrong since I wasn't super into K-Pop back in 2012) like you do BTS nowadays, they were still popular here. And while it was more a joke than anything else, of course Psy is another huge name when it comes to K-Pop in U.S media that should *definitely* be mentioned because he's a total legend and really respected. I'm not suuuper knowledgeable in the history of K-Pop in U.S media, so that's all I really wanted to say. Pretty much to just give credit where credit is due.
And now that BTS have sort of brought K-Pop to mainstream media, I don't think that they're going to be the only K-Pop artists to get really popular. We've been stanning all these groups for ages, sure, but now that new people are being exposed, we're going to see more exposure for them. Which is why I hate when salty people, mad that their favorites aren't winning awards because BTS is taking them home and it's like... you do realize that they're *literally* carrying the K-Pop genre on their backs with their worldwide fame right now? Regardless on what you want to admit, their success is bringing exposure to other K-Pop groups. Because you know what happens? Somebody new, who has never been into K-Pop but constantly sees BTS, looks them up. And as they're looking into BTS, they see other groups too.
