      @BravoBassin by the way, I just pulled the trigger and ordered the Joker Montanero with Bocote panels. The deciding factor was a combination of the knife and the sheath. It actually took me three or four days to decide between the Campero and Montanero. I'll end up getting a few more, including the Campero though.

    The oso is spanish meaning bear. Pronounced oo soo. The short oo as in look. You give credit where credit is due. For small knives where you process game that stainless steel makes sense. Im a high carbon guy in yhe mid and large range but i LOVE joker for small knives!

    • @BravoBassin
      @BravoBassin  Před 6 měsíci

      for me I like both steels but were I live there is very high humidity so a stainless steel blade is just a beter blade to carry.
      when I lived in Wyoming that is were I am from a carbon steel blade is great as there is no humidity so you do not have to worry about rust.
      A stainless is good as well. I like both and will use either.

    Nice presentation! I've owned a couple of Joker knives, the Pantera and the Luchadera. Both have great builds, but these particular models weren't for me. That said, it's not that the Joker brand isn't for me, I just need to find the right model. These are some of the best made production knives I've seen. Right now, I'm looking at the Avispa, Erizo, and Rabbit. I'm looking for the perfect combination that I'm yet to find; these last three models with either N695 or 14C28N, walnut panels, and a friction fit drop sheath, not kydex or MOVA (1.4116 steel). The Campero, Trampero, or Lynx are looking pretty good too. I'd certainly take a Pantera again if it came in N695 or 14C28N. Again, great presentation and a new subscriber.

    I go for Manly knives. They come with way better materials and Kydex sheaths, their D2 is the best D2 I ever had (holds it's edge forever after a couple of sharpening sessions!) and doens't chip. Their Manly Patriot is my edc, for the last 3 years. Even though I use it a lot and every day, it still looks in such a good condition, almost like new. It had 3 falls, all tip down hiting the floor, the tip is still like new! You pay less, since Manly cost lower and you get a better knife,that was my point.
    4mm thick scandi, is the reason I didn't get any Joker. That's too thick for a scandi, doesn't work properly. That's one reason, Morakniv, are considered the best bushcraft knives. That's why all serious makers, stop at 3mm. Marketing is one thing, a good knife is another,these 2 usually don't come together!

    • @BravoBassin
      @BravoBassin  Před 8 měsíci

      I have never heard of Manly knive so I will have to check them out.
      As far as the Joker knives I have no issues with them and use them every day with no issues at all.
      BUt we all have what we like and don;t like and that usually goes for brand sas well
      But I am always willing to give something new a try and always looking for good knives that are budget friendly.

  • @Peater_Griffen
    @Peater_Griffen Před 27 dny

    In comparing the trampero vs campero, you mentioned that you prefer the trampero more because of the handle material. Which do you prefer based on the blade style and for what purpose are you using it for?

    • @BravoBassin
      @BravoBassin  Před 27 dny +1

      Both are flat glrids which is what prefer on a knife the only blade difference is the points on the blades so I really like both blades as far as that goes it just boils down to the handles of why I like the trampero a little more.
      as far as what I do with them well I carve stuff with them make feather sticks and shavings, prep food with them slice rope fishing line cut vines flowers vegetables of vines out of are garden cut up boxes etc:
      pretty much anything you would need a knife for I use it for.
      the only thing I will not do with a knife is baton wood because I think that is stupid and it is certainly not necessary at all for breaking down fire wood to start a fire.
      And it is not what knife is designed for that is why they make axes.
      But that is a whole different conversation all together.

  • @J.sh_CDN

    Awesome video! That Nessmuk is a gorgoeus shape, sadly its always quite a bit more expensive than similarly sized jokers.
    That Campara might be my next knife, my only struggle is picking between their dark walnut, olivewood or micarta... love that they offer flat grinds as i have a lot of scandi grinds already, but few flat ground fixed blades.
    Currently my only Joker is their Ursa model which has a nice wide slicy blade, but a really really long handle, which i dont really like. shame because it's an amazing shape, just needs a longer blade, or maybe i need to be brave and trim the handle

    • @BravoBassin
      @BravoBassin  Před rokem

      yes I love the Nessmuk and it is a great knife. The campero is a great choice as well me I like the olive wood or birch handles the best so far when it comes to all of my joker knives.

    @squirts1 Před 9 měsíci +1

    How do the Campero and Trampero compare to each other?

    • @BravoBassin
      @BravoBassin  Před 9 měsíci

      Both are great knives and in my opinion they are very equel and it just boils down to the style and point of blade you want and handle material.
      Me personally I like my trampero a little more because it has the olive wood handles on it and just feels better to me then the macarta handles not that I do not like those kind of handle because I do.
      But the olive wood just feels better in my hand.
      I would say buy one of each that is what I did and I love them both lol!
