Love the way these engines are kept well clean. the brass on the footplate is very shiny! top work!

Remember travelling behind no 7, those engines are extremely powerful for their size, and beautifully kept as can be seen here. Very impressive operation. Also highly recommend the VoR in detail book - just got it, and it's excellent.

Lovely look at the locomotives, I watch this while working on my Coleg courses and it's super relaxing to listen to + interesting to watch whenever I take a break to look! The sheer size and power of these beasts are incredible, I see them every day from my windows but rarely having this close of a look.

When we’re running, come to Aber station and you can have a look on the footplate when the engine is at the platform 👍🏻

Incredible attention to detail. No wonder the engines perform so beautifully. I remember when I first saw the VoR locos in the early and mid 1960s when all they had was a general oil around before their next turn of duty and perhaps a quick rub over with an oily rag. The shed master told me that no-one ever went underneath the engines.

Thank you for your lovely comments. We take great pride in the locos, rolling stock, track and infrastructure as a whole. That way, the railway will be around for many years to come for all to enjoy 😊

Fantastic and imersive video, the poor fireman never got a minutes pause throughout their journey.

Really enjoyed watching this video, always interested to see how other railways do their operations. I hope to visit the railway in mid to late June; it will be the first time I have been to the railway since 1999/2000 and I am looking forward to it.

Great production ... but I so wish videos like this showed the safety checks before lighting the fire, especially checking the water level in the boiler.

57:05 where is the air pump on these locomotives?

It’s hidden inside the front driver side tank. Hinged door at the front for access
