I had them in 2016 I suspect from a friend visiting and sitting on my bed, they thought they might have them but wouldn't confirm. 😤I put d.e. everywhere. I told the landlord and they did pay for treatments but first they wanted actual proof of a bug, they did not believe it was bedbugs. I was lucky enough to catch one on a glue trap quickly, it was still alive, so creepy. Once the p.c. saw it and confirmed they agreed to treat. They said the d.e. Interfered with the treatment I had vacuumed up all i could and moved all clothes out of the room and dried at laundromat. A ton of prep work. Came back and they were slowly crawling on the mattress i vacuumed them up and put them down the garbage disposal. I always had mattress and box spring encasements for 2 years so I thought this would not happen. I had to beg for a 3rd treatment, (2weeks apart) cause I was still getting bit. They were gone, a 3 month process. I now have them again. I suspect from a uber rider, i have a lot of sketchy ppl in my car, or ppl who work in nursing homes, hospitals, etc. very scary. I treated with crossfire and sprayed some in my car seats. I am not getting bit only 2 times but its only been 4 days. I had treated with hot shot a few days before crossfire was applied so I'm hoping it will still work. Staying in my bed so i can get rid of them asap like last time 😓 i have a good landlord. Other ppl might have to fight very hard to get a treatment, especially if in low income housing. Its hard.

Me and my wife had bed bugs in our 3bed 2 bathroom rental That was left behind From my mother living with us instead of getting the landlord involve We just Pulled all our carpets Throw about 6 bombs in the attic And use crossfire A year and a 1/2 later no more bed bugs I am positive that I can do this job at anyone's house for a small fee. We repain it our walls remove all air conditioning Spray inside of those And now we are in the process Of replacing the floors that used to be carpet with vinyl plank flooring Paint the walls and ceilings And replace the vent covers The process is time and costly But no more bed bugs and well worth it.

Mine has paid but they only treat my apartment not the ones above us and for bedbugs it’s extremely frustrating because we’ve had 20 treatments in 3 years and the bed bugs keep coming back I finally broke down got crossfire going to use it because it’s taking a mental toll on my mental health these bed bugs are terrible.

Thanks for this. I live in Indiana in an Affordable housing senior apartment building & I have section 8. My hoarder neighbor discovered bedbugs & I found ONE in my apartment (yeah, one🙄). The landlord's Pest control, a highly rated company out of Indy, came & inspected 3 times, sprayed twice & called it "preventative treatment" & cleared me, but I'm still in hyper vigilant mode & after a month still living out of trash bags. My neighbor had a heat/chemical treatment & had to have a demo company come into clear her mess in order to not be evicted for sanitation rules in the lease. The LL charged her $1,200 to spray her place & adjacent units, & above & below units. She also had to pay another $1,200 to have a pro crew come & remove her clutter. The bedbug laws here are landlord friendly, but I wasn't clear on the federal laws for HUD. I know anyone can get bedbugs, but her hoarding problem was so bad pest control wouldn't warranty the heat treatment. In the lease, landlord is responsible to treat them, but they can charge it back to you if they deem it could have been controlled by adhering to the housekeeping rules. I already lost a lifetime worth of memories & inherited possessions from mold because Indiana won't enforce landlords to take care of the problem & at the time I didn't get federal assistance. I keep my place pretty minimalist because I'm tired of someone else's problem turning my life upside down. It's good to know federal law gives some protection to the renter. Very helpful. Thanks again!

I live in rented property in U K and was told today I would have to pay £110 for the landlords to arrange for someone like you to come out and treat them.

Like it or not if your tenants leave you will eventually have to kill the bed bugs. If you don’t you open yourself to lawsuits. So to answer your question. Because it is cheaper to kill the issue or just don’t rent your property if you don’t want to accept the responsibility of renting.

So, basically you're a slumlord. That is a really narrow minded way of thinking.

Hi Jason. I am hoping you can help me please. We have lived in a single family home for 6 years and we rent. We have never had any bug issues. Back in 2020 we discovered we had bats and squirrels in our crawl space/attic. Our landlady hired a wildlife guy to come out and remove the animals. He put up a one way door for the bats to exit, swept up the bat droppings and left. The property management company our landlady uses was supposed to have their own maintenance man come out and seal cracks and such around the perimeter of the house so the animals couldn't get back in, but failed to do so, and we were not aware of this. About 2 weeks ago my husband (while mowing) noticed the one way door was no longer on the little vent window in the attic (from outside the house, we don't go up there), and the window was wide open. We were unsure how long this had been like this as that side of the house is not frequented. Our landlady sent the wildlife back out to inspect the attic again. He said the bats were back, and that he would get with my landlady to see how she wanted to proceed. Two days after he was here, in the evening, around 8pm I was in the upstairs hallway (near the closet door that leads to the attic pull down ladder) and I got bit by something. It was a stinging feeling and I was in the dark so I went downstairs to look. It started stinging again on a different part of my leg. I pulled up my pants leg and saw a little brown thing, but as soon as I pulled up my pant leg it either fell or jumped off. I couldn't find it in the carpet. The next day I had several bites on my leg, very itchy. I am wondering if the wildlife guy could have brought a bat bug in or brought one down from the attic when he was up there. He didn't say he saw them, but I just don't understand what bug would have bit me this many times in one go. Since then I have been panicking and worried sick. I am scared to say anything to my landlady just in case they are actually beg bugs and it is our fault?? I inspected the bed and couch and put DE down along the baseboards and under the bed and couch. I did not see anything, but from your videos I understand they hide well and may not see them right away. My husband thinks I am overreacting, doesn't want to spend money for something he can't see -- so this is making the situation much worse. I want to jump into action asap just in case, buy the crossfire and take control, but he is not on board, I guess I am just wondering if bat bugs would set up shop down here if they are up there, and how I can find out if that is what they really are so that we are not stuck with this expense? Please help!
