I think this video helped me figure out whats wrong with my RS09. Just ordered the Upper octave chip - fingers crossed!

What was wrong with it? I just got an Rs-09 from japan and sadly one of the notes regardless of octave cuts in and out when held down. Any Idea what could be causing this? After watching this I assume it is the expensive hard to find divider chip

All those vidéos are so instructing ! Thank you so much ! Can you spell the name of the compagny who made the oscillator réplica ? Also, i havé got a question : is there a way to midifie a synth based on frequency subdivision, like that one. I found a Siel PX, and i realy like the sound but it does'nt have midi... Do you know a way (just the big idea) to do it or is it totaly impossible ? Thanks again for the knowlege !

How did he arrive at his conclusion (about which components were faulty)? From experience mainly? Or did he test/measure components, or ... ?
