    Wow thank you Karabo, this is beautiful and I relate to every detail of what you talked about. Ny daughter went through all what you said. She left last week (09/03/2023), i cried on the eve of her trip and also at the airport. She arrived safely in San Francisco, California. She has settled pretty well and she's enjoying each and every minute of her time. We're pretty happy for her, she's going to experience the world and broaden her horizons about the world.
    Thank you and have a great day. 💖

    • @KaraboMareka
      @KaraboMareka  Před 2 lety

      Hey girl thank you for subscribing! My host family actually offered to pay for my application fee. It is NOT allowed by cultural care so she had to fight both American offices and South African offices for days until they gave in. Apparently I was the only Au Pair to have a family so this by the agency. However, I’m sure there’s other Au Pairs that have done that without the agency knowing. My host mom wanted to transfer directly to their account. But it is unlikely for a family to offer to pay I think. I haven’t heard of any other au pair say that

      I just contacted someone working for cultural care and she says and I quote : “So, there are discounts for Au Pairs that go for a second time or have a degree in education, but none of the discounts will get them R7500 - The biggest discount will only get you to R12000 without the protection plans - so that is impossible for the Au Pair to have paid R7500, unless she is with a different agency”
