    I'll be replacing the shocks on a 2004 Hummer H2, all four of them. I got AC Delco Professional series for the front and Monroe Reflex for the rear. I realize they aren't 'matched' per say, but all 4 are currently stock and it has over 200,000 miles on it. Should see improvement, will let you guys know.

      I have a 2008 hummer H2 and I was thinking about replacing the shocks on mine considering I have 275,000 miles but I wasn’t sure if it would really make that big of a difference… I have a pretty good ride right now so I was curious to see if you could really notice a difference

      Thank you for commenting. It's amazing how that happens, anyway the job is done now and hopefully your ride is OK🤞

    It's been 3 months since you did this. Any updates on how your H2 drives? Really smooth compared to before?

      Thank you for your comment. It's hard to tell how much smoother the ride is, what I can say is that I don't notice the ride anymore, that's the best answer I can give...

    it's incorrect to tighten the shock absorber nut when it doesn't stand on it's wheels - the silent block will not work properly and will break

      @@hummerfixes Hi) I've seen such videos , but also I read the manuals, cause one day I've made the same mistake and my friend (mechanic ) has noticed me that it's incorrect. Silent blocks work like additional springs and ut's better to tighten them in their usual position.

    Hi, did it smooth out the ride at all? I was thinking of doing mine if it makes a difference. Thanks for doing this video

      Thank you for your kind comment. Tbh the work was only done yesterday, so too early to tell. I'll post a comment when I know more.👍

      The ride does feel better, but may be it's because the old shock's were bad. Again haven't done too many miles since to give a definitive answer.....

      We are at 100,000 miles on our 2005 H2 and was wondering how you like these shocks. We don't do off road and our H2 is stock height with stock tire sizes.
      I know Bilstein make quality shocks so they should at least be an improvement over the old shocks.
      Did you also do the rear shocks? Do you have coil spring or airbags in the rear?
      Looking forward to your break-in review after the shocks have worn in some.

      @@normt430 Thanks for posting, also at 100K, best model year but I'm biased 😉 As far as I can tell they are great, as with yourselves, no off-roading and stock tires etc. Yet to change the rear shocks and still have stock air suspension (big fan) At the moment I'm self-isolating so can't go anywhere for 10days, but when I do some miles of course I'll post the results. 👍

    😵‍💫 corosive stell ?

    • @hummerfixes
      @hummerfixes  Před rokem

      Thank you for your comment. I presume you are asking if they are steel and will they corrode or have corroded? Just checked, its 00:30hrs + 3inches of snow, but as far as I can see there are no signs of corrosion. They have probably been treated/coated which means ultimately they will degrade, how long they will last is a good question. Stainless 316 grade would have been good, but expensive. Bilstein make no mention of materials etc.
