I think the intro to INAFSIAFD "For what you did to me, and what I'll do to you, you get what everyone else gets, you get a lifetime" is him talking to the man who killed him and his wife. The meaning being "because you killed me and my wife and because I'm going to kill you, you get an eternity in hell, like everyone else I've killed"
I think it's really interesting to hear him say ''singing songs that made you slit your wrist'' cause it's so ''sober'' in comparison to the other lyrics I guess? Like he's obviously referencing to ''emo'' music or pretty much any other punk/rock genre that thematizes depression etc. It'd be really interesting to know which songs they mean
Also I think The Jetset Life is Gonna Kill You is about his addiction to alcohol. He is refering to ''her'' as sort of a goddes, eg the goddess of addiction or just mere alcohol/trance and maybe she functions as a replacement for his lost lover who seemed to be equally ''intoxicating''.
Oooo I’ve never thought about the goddess part of it, it’d make sense if you look at the album more in a “where is there Catholic/religious guilt” and also how he includes pronouns in his writing!!!

The patient (if that’s who you’re referring to) has his own troubles with love but with him he pushed his gf away and treated himself as a villain. Although I wish they were related they aren’t- the only thing to continue from three cheers to BP is mikey having a badge of honor on his jacket bc he d!3d in ghost

And who else woumd convince a cancer patient to kill all his friends. and the line "theres things that i have done you should never know." and "I think im gonna burn in hell, everybody burn the house right down." but you know i could just be overthinking
The lyric “Like a bullet through a flock of doves” is incontrovertibly a reference to the films of the famed Hong Kong action film auteur, JOHN WOO. Slow-motion footage of the hero firing 2 guns at once - often while leaping through the air - as many doves take flight, startled by the gun blasts. It’s the man’s directorial signature. He used it in many films including the Jet Li vehicles _The Killer_ and _Hard Boiled._ the image appeared in Face/Off (when Travolta’s son is assassinated at the amusement park, iirc) and popped up again during M:I - II’s climactic Motorcycle duel. Now, the reason John Woo includes this image over and over is closer to what you’re describing. But I don’t think that’s the primary reason. Also, I don’t hear any reference to homoerotic sexual assault in _You Know What They do to Guys Like us in Prison._ I take the title as more akin to the Husband making a death pledge. He would rather die right here and now in a hail of police gunfire, rather than risk the literal and metaphorical torture of a lengthy prison sentence. Plus, The title only makes sense if it’s being verbalized *before* anything happens. He’s making a suicide pact, perhaps? Anyway, great video overall and I dig the hell out of your fashion sense and haircut.
In most videos before prison is sung Gerard talks about how the song is about having s3xual relations in a jail cell. Specifically the lines “how we’re just two men as god made us” and “I’ll kiss your lips again” add to the idea that it is a gay song. Gerard incorporates a lot of catholic/religious trauma/guilt into three cheers and it really shines in some of these lines. (Also one of the original titles being “if we’re not careful we’ll turn into Catholics”) There’s this aura around Prison that makes it “the gay song”. Gerard has been credited to say he recorded the song in his underwear while watching explicit videos. Thank u for watching:)
