- Best places to visit in Arkansas in two days. We drove from Houston, Tx and spent three nights in Little Rock, Arkansas. There are plenty of natural places to visit in Arkansas. The places that we visited are the best places that we can reach in one day from Little Rock.
1st day - Whitaker point (Hawksbill Crag) trail in Ozark National forest
2nd day - Hot Springs National Park, Lake Catherine State Park and Junction Bridge, Little Rock

I love Hot Springs! It has a 1920’s feel mixed with a modern twist. The mountains, the bath houses, the gangster museum, the Lake, the peace the tranquility! Absolutely love it!
My sister lives down there so I get go quite often. Its great.

The wife & I love Arkansas, been to Hot Springs twice. And to the Ozark Mountains in Jasper for Christmas 2020. So beautiful. South Louisiana to Hot Springs, 8 1/2 hrs. Thanks for sharing

I recommend hiking Pinnacle Mountain. It is extremely beautiful, but be careful because me and my mom fell down and went tumbling down and I wouldn’t want the same to happen to you. Other than that though, it was pretty nice.

Three less known attractions
Rattlesnake Ridge park which is just down the road from Pinnacle Mt. and in the Quachita Forest you can see a breathtaking view from Flatside Pinnacle. Both are fairly easy trails to the top. Last is Forked Mt. in the Quachita Forest. It's a pretty difficult trek to the top and there are no trails. You have to make your own way to the top. It is worth it though !

Museum of Natural Resources in Smackover sounds boring but was fascinating. Grant County Museum is a good one. Prairie Grove Civil War park is way better than Pea Ridge.

What is it like in fall and winter?
Fall is ok nothing really happens after December is when we start getting a little snow and ice. Before that is just colder temperatures.
Travelling there this coming weekend..so via Dallas is the best route? We were planning to use 59?
You are right. 59 is the shortest way from Houston. We went through Dallas because our friends join us from there.
