Just a reminder that this is Ichigo who was worn out from fighting Quilge and escaping his jail. Also, his full power was suppressed by Old Man Zangetsu, yet Ichigo was still able to damage Yhwach's arm.
Yet still got clapped when he got his full power and only won thanks to the deus ex machina arrow

Ichigo became one of my faves when I started on the manga.
This is one of the saddest anime episode I've ever seen, and the most angry I've seen an anime character with this much anger and sorrow. This episode was great

This entire new arc has been worth the wait over and over. Normally anime reboots after such a long time are a disappointment. Bleach really is ageing like a fine wine. Story is AMAZING (even tho manga was rushed at the time), animations are indescribably awesome, and all the character payoffs were gonna get are just the icing on the cake. BLEACH IS BACK BABYYY
That episode had everything id needed was 5* from beginning to end i have never seen ichigo that angry i could feel his anger while watching it i look forward to the rematch. For me Bleach has always been the best out of the top 3 Naruto was really close but its Bleach for me everyday #Bankai

The best part of this episode is Ichigo's rage. We have seen him kinda angry sure, but nothing like this, this was rage fueled by sorrow and loss of life. That was a pure explosion of reiatsu from ichigo, we've not seen it up to this point other than hollow ichigo, and id argue that even that wasnt as strong as ichigo was here.
Yes there is more to it than what i said here, but im trying to keep it spoiler free for people.
There is a theory that Ichigo have similar power with Yhwach(Soul King). While SKYhwach is a symbol of Despair which he can delete future, Ichigo is a symbol of Hope which he can create a new future. In the last battle with Yhwach, Zangetsu appear eventho Yhwach have already destroyed it. So no matter how many times Yhwach delete the future, Ichigo will create new future.

Yeah, atleast in the moment, if Ichigo was full power and mentally sound and confident it would've been way better for him. At that point Ichigo was exhausted and low on energy, aswell as extremely unstable from having to sit and watch everyone die. So for the circumstances Ichigo did far better people realise.

Not that this point because his power was still being suppressed by the old man. It's only once Ichigo reforges his true Zangetsu and he has access to 100% of his power that he can.

Full power Ichigo is straight up capable of no diffing Yhwach. When he went into his true Bankai and used Getsuga Tensho he would've killed Yhwach immediately had he not had the Almighty.
Ichigo power animation here is amazing i'm so fcking sad he gained new powers, not black bankai with hollow mask, best character design i ever seen...

Man I hate how Tite Kubo stopped using the hollow masks this fight would’ve been way more fire with ichigo’s distorted hollow voice
He didn't "stop" using it when ichigo used mugetsu he "accepted" his power so not ashamed nor afraid of his hollow powers anymore so when he got his fullbring_ shinigami form he didn't stop using the mask it's just he didn't have it anymore because it became mixed with his other powers
The now Ichiho has accepted the hollow inside, so using mask now is like an accessory, which is pointless unless you're chunni that much lmao

y he didn't use hollowfication man, he was fighting in this bankai with that freeloder arc: fullbring gin
bleach was never thoughtfully written in terms of how fights were won (usually just victory due to being stronger than the opponent when you needed to be) but the problem with this arc is that the BBEG becomes something against whom strength doesn't matter at any level

@@thehulk86 Neither the Bleach manga nor anime were cancelled. Kubo ended it on his own because he screwed up his wrist which made drawing insanely painful. So he rushed through to the end to get it over with. The anime was placed on hiatus after the Fullbring arc so they wouldn't have to do yet another filler arc. The Thousand Year Blood War anime was greenlit in 2016. Behind the scens factors like the pandemic is why it took so long to come out. The idea that Bleach was cancelled because of low ratings is a misconception. Just because the series never reached Dragon Ball, Naruto and One Piece levels of popularity doesn't mean the series isn't one of the most popular manga and anime series in the world. The idea Shounen Jump would canceled a cash cow like that is absurd.

It wasn't until the last 2 arcs that popularity SHARPLY declined until it was reaching the bottom 5ish in each issue of Shounen Jump's weekly popularity polls. As to the actual reason for cancellation, I'd have to ask you to cite your source. I've heard reports that behind the scenes Kubo had become a bit of a prima dona and wasn't working well with his editors, leading to loss of interest over time. I was reading Bleach week to week as it came out for a few years back when the series ended so I know just how unpopular it had become, the anime had been cancelled back in 2012, 4 years before the manga ended. Think about that, the thousand year blood war arc, the least popular arc in Bleach's entire history, lasted for 4 years before it was brought to an end. To me that just screams of pulling the plug
@@thehulk86 The Big 3 is purely an American concept. One Piece, Naruto and Bleach were the three series that helped kick off the anime/manga boom of the early 2000's and remained a constant of it. Internationally Bleach has always trailed behind Naruto and they both trailed behind One Piece. In America One Piece was the least popular and yet it's the single most popular manga in the world. The One Piece franchise has outsold Lord of the Rings at this point. America was one of the only places Bleach was more popular then One Piece or Naruto. Internationally it wasn't even close.
And while the series popularity did declined neared the end. Popularity polls are not sales. And Bleach is the 12th highest selling manga of all time. Why would Shounen Jump screw over one of their most highest selling series of all time in the middle of it's final arc? What sense does that make?
But if you want sources look up "Tite Kubo tendon". I did misremember that it was a torn shoulder tendon not his wrist. But the point is he makes clear that the decision to end it how he did was not an editorial decision. It was his decision because he was in so much pain that he basically rushed the ending because he wanted to at least finish the series. Also look up "Bleach Thousand Year Blood War anime greenlit". The Bleach anime was not cancelled it was placed on hiatus because it had caught up to the manga and the moment the manga was finished The Thousand Year Blood War anime was greenlit. This new series has been in the works for a while.
Neither the Bleach anime or manga have ever been cancelled in any official manner. The manga ended where Tite Kubo wanted it to end but the last part of the arc was definitely rushed due to his injury. The idea that it had been abruptly canceled by WSJ and forced to conclude in only a few issues and the anime was cancelled due to low popularity was a fan theory that has been passed around so much in the last six years that people take it as the gospel truth. Despite the fact there has never been any official confirmation and the original creator and people involved in the anime all say it's not true.

You’re clearly missing the big fricking hint, but Ichigo defended against the neck stab with Blut, a QUINCY technique, which can only be performed by quincies, and since Yhwach is leader of quincies, Ichigo is more valuable to him alive.

In the past Hollowification is used as a last resort as it has some drawbacks, such as a time limit

At this point he seemed to hold his own against Base power Yhwach
Whether Ichigo can still use Hollowification or not will be revealed soon

@@luapob1He got damaged by his own backlash when trying to swing the sword around in a confined space in hopes to break it while using Getsuga on top. You can probably see that even his sword is chipped at places due to how hard he was trying to break out.
