Is there any cons to this for either your teeth/gums or both?
I have same question, as far as bonding goes there is no real adverse problem with teeth, but I am unsure if this bonding material sitting right up close to the gumline like that would cause further recession. Hopefully someone can answer.
Bonding can be used to achieve a more aesthetic look for people who receded gums. Gum grafting can also be used to achieve a more aesthetic look for people with receded gums. Treating gum recession is a complex issue. People with severe gum recession (e.g. millers 2 or 3 or 4) will likely need gum grafting as it can predictably cover recession loss can bring back thickness. This in itself a highly complex area.
What material is used? Glass ionomer?
Can the bonding cause further recession or trap bacteria around the gum or on the root surface causing the gum to receed further. If the recession is due to agressive brushing and not gum disease?
I there cause for concern about the acid etching that allows the bonding material to stick to cause the tooth root to weaken? Worried about the bonding causing inflamation at the gumline and causing further recession. Thanks in advance.

@@HelderP1337 No one can give a straight answer, I have asked 2 dentists and a periodontist and they like to have this "it might be possible, but not likely.
Another said no, then the other said in some cases. They dont even know what the hell they are talking about it seems. All they are interested in is selling you the highest cost service that will have likely complications later where they can then sell you more services to fix the problem the first service created. Let me know if you find out something.

@@HelderP1337 You would think with all the advancements in medicine, and surgical techniques and procedures of various kinds like heart, liver, spine, ocular etc. that dental procedures would follow suit and come up with something other than basically cutting a flap of flesh and putting it over exposed root like a barbarian.
The pinhole method appears to have the same abysmal long term failure as typical gum grafts. Its like dentistry is stuck in the past because its more profitable to kep it that way.
@@jensz9360 yes, my thoughts exactly. I figure since I've put myself into this situation (adult braces) I'll try and use a more down to earth fix for it.
I'll try and favour bonding and/or crowns.
This channel first teaches you to floss the wrong way (or at all) to ruin your gums and push bacteria deeper, and then they offer to fix it, for a price. Nice
I wear a night guard and have had dental bonding… I stay on top of dental hygiene and yet the gums are still receding. Why? It’s like the bonding only served a temp resolve.
I would like to know the same, if the bonding actually can cause further recession since its up against the gum and if it can trap bacteria on root surface or caus ethe gum to become inflamed and recede further. I havent gotten any bonding yet. How many mm was your recession before bonding and how much more has it receded?
